A number of car companies are moving towards becoming “mobility” companies. I suspect they’re planning things down the line that include fewer car ownership and more subscription-based services like car share or people owning cars for short term.
I agree...that would be a prime setup...especially here in MN! Seems like it could be a packaging issue with the larger battery and all though ( the current AWD Prius jams the battery under the rear seats ).
Yeah there's an aluminium can's width worth of space underneath for air flow. If Toyota switched to liquid cooling, there'll be some free space. Granted, the rear motor probably won't be that powerful as the RAV4 due to space constraints but it could potentially be more powerful than the current one in the AWD-e.
