I both drove a lot but also got a lot of free charging. I was doing two or three 140 mile round trips per week in the Leaf, free charging the whole way if I planned it right. So probably not a very accurate estimate based off experience. Still, I calculated it should be around 1/3 the price to fuel if most charging were from home.

Well, you can believe whatever you want. I personally believe that we are either going to have evolved to the point that the human race is extinct by then, or there is a Divine being that has other plans.

Getting more rockets into space is a good start to getting us out there at some point. But the probability of getting us out far enough to make any sort of difference is pretty low, even if Musk is as great as you claim. There is still the question, where would we even go? Mars is about the closest thing we have, and it's way worse of a place to live than Earth. It would be much, much easier and practical to just build bio-domes on Earth than on Mars. Now if we want to get far enough away from the Sun there may be micro-planets like Pluto or the moons of Uranus or Saturn or Jupiter. But that would not be no Noah's Ark and would likely be just a way to keep a few people alive while we clone them for as long as possible. Even if we made interstellar travel, we still aren't close to finding a twin Earth anywhere in the Milky Way putting us back at just hanging out on some cold moons. And going intergalactic is, well, pretty much impossible as far as scientists can theorize unless we develop faster than light travel.
