    Hello from Germany,

In the Auto Bild magazine, the following Photoshop images were shown. They differ from those shown here, but somehow, they would reflect a greater leap forward, no? Fuel consumption is said to improve by 10%.

Difficult to say whether they reflect reality though...

They are certainly more in line with official information from TMC's managing officer Satoshi Ogiso in Green Car Congress.

But that does not prove yet the next generation Prius will look like this!

I hope they make it look like the one in the 2nd pic, that's really cool!

    Not quite:

But the artist certainly got inspiration of it. Because that's what these Photoshop images just are: artists's speculations.

    Re Artist Speculations:

I agree. Artist speculations. But, either the artist are getting better, or they have improved information .... these most recent images are significant improvements over the earlier depictions. I suspect we would all agree on that?

I don't think these figures are accurate. Likely, the magazine just reused current specs in lack of new data of the next gen THS.

The NS4 "look" is closer to the real design.

    What's your take on AWD?

Highly doubt she'd be able to say that.

That's almost a shooting brake design. I like that! It looks European.

lol. If what you're saying is true, it matches what Chris Hostetter says (unless you guys given the same presentation from him)

Yeah - would be nice to know :)
In the interview linked below with Toyota US vice president for strategic planning is quoted, saying that next gen Prius : "A replacement for the main Prius hatchback won’t go on sale for “a little more than a year,” he said." (november 2012). So a reveal as a 2015 model on the NAIAS 2014 january does not seem impossible after all.

I would also like an AWD. One of the most limiting thing about Prius in Sweden is the absence of towing capability.

Boy .... I wish/hope that the above images are accurate. I really like both.

What do you think? The images are very similar. Obviously different color, but look at the sculptured door panel ... very similar. Likewise for the window profile.

Spoiler or not, notice the split rear window is gone.

I really hope these are representative images. Toyota would not be able to build them fast enough.

I really like this also, recent Toyota cars have been very close to the concepts they unveiled, so I do not worry. I do think this is the NS4 though. It says Plug-In hybrid/front fender. I am speculating the NS4 will come first, unveiled Spring of 2014. Now, where do I sign up!

The Thai article looks like the Prius. This close-to-ns4 does not. I honestly don't know which one but I'm excited for both! I like both.

Felt: You have the same year Prius as I do - are you thinking of getting the Gen IV plugin or regular if it surfaces with expectations met?

I so want to get the plugin...

So far my lifetime is ~48 mpg and there's 50k miles on it, still running strong. Switches out the old stock tires 5k ago.

I really hope the announcement comes 2014 and it's released later that year as a 2015 model.

The Mitsubishi Outlander 7 seater Plugin also looks awesome! What a way to stay ahead of the game, not only a 7 seater hybrid but plugin with 20 mile range? Damn.

Toyota, you have some real competition, let's see what you guys have next :p
