Gotta have some kind of sawdust filler as it is hard to speculate for over a year with very little hard info to go on. Would be nice if a TM person could have chimed in and alerted us that the revelation was happening.

58 combined due to more contribution from the electric motors.
Toyota has to beef up the power delivery from the battery to the electric motors - can't have ICE kicking in as quickly as it does now.
At least those are the minimum numbers needed to impress buyers, in my opinion of course. I'd be wow'd with 35/62, but wouldn't bet on it.

Your numbers are better than mine. i just need enough city ev miles, and as for highway at 70-75mph, gas is probably more efficient.

Boost at 70 mph is quite nice, but better utilized on city streets simply due to limited capacity. Think about how quickly the miles click by on the highway and how many more there typically are.

The screen in that Prius spyshot.... the new 2016 Tacoma looks to have the same screen (for those that don't have access to a Mirai and want to see it in person)

it makes sense that the article is talking about the first showing of the lift back (non plug in) and casually quotes a boost in ev miles?o_O

I doubt it's larger than 8". Toyota currently has sizes from 6.1"-8" (Highlanders get 8"). Of course the Lexus models have 7"-12" versions.

Edit: As I say this, Toyota publishes the press release for the 2016 Land Cruiser....

Ok, I guess it goes from 6.1"-9" now.

There's no other specs to talk about until whatever they reveal on Sept 8.
