I don't min white interior as long as it doesn't reflect in windshield. I currently have light grey interior and it's way better than dark in the heat of the sun.

 

I doubt center instrument cluster would be "Apple White" like Chevy Volt!

Apex of roof moves forward(Gen II), now with curved roof & glass, rear quarter panel shoulder, seems longer if wheelbase is same.

 

Latest (and best so far) spy photos were taken outside the Toyota Technical Center, 1630 186th Street, Gardena, California. Confirmed via Google Streetview. For anyone in that area, it would be nice to get some good quality video.

 

As if you could see it with a driver sitting in it, or be able to tell how good a seat is by looking at it. Dumb comment.

Prius is mostly about MPGs and consequently gas prices. The first comment from any person on the street, in the store, when I mention Prius, is 'those are really good on gas, right?' What the heck else would people say about it? Oh wow, they look nice, or it looks fun to dirve? Heck no.

I suppose I just do not understand the "making" of a test mule. I'm not arguing the point, but when I think of all of the 1000's of individual components, and the myriad of pieces that are manufactured by outside vendors, I cannot understand how it all comes together.

I would assume that it must be hand-built?
Have the stamping, cutting and shaping "jigs" all been finalized?
Have the assembly sequences been completed?
Have the welding robots all been timed, and positioned?
It would seem that the masking is not only intended to conceal new design features, but also might be concealing components that are not finished, or do not fit properly. For example, the white console picture: that does not look like a finished surface to me.

So being that the two images are almost perfect silhouette shots*, I overlaid the two over each other and adjusted for scale using wheel bolt circles and overall wheel circumference (I assume these won't change much). The driver's head is scaled similarly as well (I'm assuming they didn't use particularly big-or-tiny-headed freaks). I am also accepting the Taiwanese spec-leak as a reference.

The 3rd-gen is wearing 17" rims, and it seems the disguised 4th-gen is wearing 15" rims.

The hood seems to terminate into its "sculpt" earlier, and the windscreen is not quite as inclined as the 3rd-gen, which is what leads to the more conventional "notch" we all might have noticed. The beltline seems to be slightly lower.

It looks like despite visually shifting the greenhouse forward, the real change is the growth of the tail (as I suggested earlier in this thread), and so the rear headroom is unaffected.

* - The difference is that the 3rd gen was shot perfectly side-on with a long lens that renders a a perfect silhouette. In contrast, the disguised 4th-gen was shot much closer with a wider lens, and slightly behind the fore-aft centerpoint of the car. Any difference in length this will produce is a slight (and probably negligible) shortening of the disguised 4th-gen.

 

I don't know, they sure looked like the same car to me. Now wouldn't that be funny, Toyota messing with us by driving around in a GIII pretending it is the G4.

 

Maybe we'll see - to effect, the Gen IV is to the Gen III as the Prius C 2016 is to the Prius C 2015 :O
Or Corolla 2014 to the Corolla 2013 - I thought that was a cool change though.

 

I think all these cloaked car spotings is just part of Toyota's PR campaign for the new Prius.

 

Camry Hybrid... it's a decent compromise.

 

So the total mileage displayed is 333.3 or 3333 miles?, If 3333 miles at 56.5mpg during testings, I'll get 60mpg then,.
