God I hope they don't put that on the Gen IV LB. While shopping for the boy's new car I finally saw the 2015 V nose up close...it's hideous.

I can't wait until Car and Driver gets ahold of a 2016 Prius and gives their take on it. Bwuhahahahahahahhh

Yes Prius V nose does not look good whichever way we look at it. By comparison, I thought the C-HR was much more acceptable.

I am also hoping there will be a higher end spec of Prius (Prius Prime?) and hopefully, they will give details at the reveal.

    Prius AC can draw 2kW.

1.9 kW home AC is rated about 18,000 BTU enough to cool up to 1,000 sq.ft room.

The AC in car is oversized to bring the temp down very fast. I thought it is interesting how they compare.

Not a "V". To tell if it's a "V" always look at the roof line of the back of the cabin. The "V" roofline doesn't drop much. Like the "C", but in its case the roof line can't drop because it's so short. Maybe the original design that is now (untold) history. It's nose is particularly "strange", perhaps even ugly?

As far as the "opinions" expressed in that piece, no "non-hybrid gas sipper" even comes close to the economy of a Prius. And forget diesels.

There is a -REASON- we are loyal enthusiasts! :)

that's actually a very interesting article. they should have added that their pic is just their own interpretaion or artists rendering. jim lento's quote that the gen IV would be basically the same, with more attractive styling and better handling, says a lot about what we can expect i think. however, styling is in the eye of the beholder.

they also mention that 45% of prius owners buy another one, which they say is quite high.

ya, let's hope that's not it. but who knows what will appeal to a wider audience? can we point to a model that sells for it's looks more than any other reason?

The car in Mendel Leisk linked article is a Prius v
It's impossible to see the rear roof from the front: The rear window line drops down making you think it's a liftback but roof does not drop down. See any v photo.
Besides, side view mirror mounted on door where gen4's will not be.

Still, if Gen 4 snout looks like that, lot of sales will be lost.
Also, there may be a teaser photo in late August but not now.
Haven't you guys been through this before?

I keep thing the fourth gen delay is due to Toyota working away, making the front bumper look JUST like that. :(

Gen4 will have to offer a pretty amazing test drive AND have a blessing from Car and Driver as in, wow, it's actually likes curves and drives nice before I consider it.
Gen4 Prius is the last alternative fuel vehicle I will consider otherwise I go conventional next year, and don't worry, I won't be back to drive yall nuts.
Don't mean to be a jerk, but not too surprised why 95% of buyers go conventional.

i'm not surprised either, but i think there are a lot more reasons than handling and looks. just look at sales numbers of hybrids that come in a non hybrid version.

It occurred to me while driving in the Colorado Rockies last week that the Prius is very good at some kinds of driving but quite bad at others. It will always be an mpg specialist, so if that's not your top priority, I don't think it will ever seem "sporty" enough.

Well, in my long experience, a "sporty" car will only help you get tickets. I used to "drone along" on mountain highways in my 3rd gen RX-7 at a third of its top speed, being checked by -every- police officer I met. The look of surprise on their faces when they saw I was actually driving at the speed limit was priceless. That car was "I'M OVER HERE OFFICER!!!" yellow. Yes, I used the best radar detector available, along with a scanner. But instant on radar and cell phones made those "defenses" useless. So now I have fun at the speed limit, getting ridiculous mileage. ;)

I have found the Prius, both GII and GIII, to be just fine on mountain roads. For example, highway 99 in B.C. , from Lilloet to Pemberton. I was rarely passed, but passed many, each time I drove it. THAT'S a road! Slow to 10 km/hr corners in some places, one lane bridges, and one particularly spectacular 18% grade! I do give motorcycles lots of room to pass on that road (they love it, for good reason - I did too when I rode - I had bugs in my teeth from smiling so much). Come to think of it, I only remember one 4 wheeled vehicle passing me on that road in the 30 or so times I've driven it. He was an off duty RCMP officer, in a very neat car. Caught me in a part with nowhere to pass, so I pulled off as much as I could and stopped to let him by. No sense ruining his fun!

What a large GULF between a Prius and a "sporty" car: There is a LOT of room for an improved Prius to fit in there.

I don't like the current jostling ride on uneven pavement: The jolts too hard.
Drives me batty to be sitting up high in the car even though my seat all way down. Need lower.
    Pretty bland looking car outside.
My gage on right side of HSI starting to discolor.
Started getting a light clicking sound when braking and steering at same time.
