As a California driver, your theories of freeway driving fail to find support in the DMV California Driver Handbook:

    https://apps.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/dl600.pdf
    Page 33:
    Page 40:
    Page 57:
In summary, the rightmost regularly marked lane on the freeway is where the slowest traffic should drive -- that lane is not dedicated for entering or exiting. Traffic in that lane has the right of way -- it is not their job to move over or yield. It is the responsibility of the driver entering into the freeway to ensure there is adequate space for merging and it is their job to match the exist traffic speed when merging in.

...it's similar verbage in AZ Driver License Manual:

"Entering & Exiting the Highway • Yield the right-of-way to drivers already on highway.
"Lane Use • The right lane is used for entering and exiting, and for slow traffic.

    ...etc..

I misspoke when I said driver's in the slow lane ought to move over to allow cars to enter freeway. That is not true. But, what is true, is sometimes they must slow a little bit to allow a car to enter the slow lane. I don't care what the handbook says, around here in Bay Area the aforementioned is true

We have some notorious very short merge freeway on ramps in Bay Area. One of them is coming of Treasure Island onto Bay Bridge West. Tell me drivers in slow lane don't need to 'help' out a car entering by slowing a little ...

especially if in some 0 to 60 in 11 seconds wimpy car .

Throw Bill Gates in there as well. Not saying you are, but I'm always a bit perplexed when people laugh at them saying that. When some of the smartest people on the planet agree on something, I find it slightly prudent to listen.

Looks like toyota will do something revolutionary. Truth is 58 mpg is like 60 city and 56 highway .

However. Still no confirmation. If it's a 15% increase or anything more toyota would strategically put it self ahead of the game but almost back itself into the corner for gen 5. But what does that mean in a world where there is more competition

So thus could mean tnga could bring a 50 Mpg 7 seater...

This is a bit troubling - "The Prius will be the first to debut the newly designed hybrid powertrain under this strategy. Toyota didn’t confirm if the upcoming model will feature TNGA, but..."

Has Toyota confirmed anywhere that 4g will have TNGA? That's been talked about before. If so, I understand why Toyota is being so secretive about 4g Prius.

That Star-Wars "Stormtrooper" grill is hideous! They plan to offer a "Godzilla" model for discerning owners?

If *that* is indeed the GenIV, exactly *how* did all the Toyota-people mean "stunning"?

    • "Stunning" as in "zapped" by a Tazer?
    • "Stunning" as in "zapped" by lightning?
    • "Stunning" as in "IRS" saying they're "sorry" for auditing you?
    • "Stunning" as in "ISIS" saying they "...didn't mean to decapitate..." anybody?

I like both the exterior and the interior. Well, white would get dirty / scuffed pretty quickly though.

However, I don't buy it, because that site has one of those bogus sounding names, and the article is from January.

I guess those pics "blew you away" :D

I remember when the gen 3 came out. Some loved it, some hated it. The same will be true with the new design, no matter what it looks like. Also, some vehicles look different in person than on a monitor screen and some grow on you.

I think that's Gen3 with some aftermarket kit installed.

ANALOGY - If that is the new GenIV, for me it's gonna: (a) need LOTs more than just one BEER-in-hand, as well as, (b) be WELL after midnight before THAT fuglyness "mellows" to anything less than hideous.

    YMMV...however.

It's not authentic. If it was, many credible sources would be talking.
    It's a modified Gen 3
