In the motorcycle industry, Japanese magazines are well known for photoshopping an "artist conception" onto a current model and calling it the next model to generate magazine sales.

Having said that, it looks good to me. Thankfully they didn't go with the new Lexus look!

I hope it's not the new one.
It doesn't look as though they have improved sight lines to the side of the car

over the shoulder glances to either side are going to be pretty bad... they almost need to have larger 1/4 windows that follow the roofline and hip line.

But like anything over time you'd get used to it..

What is under the masking does not really look very different. Also consider that the first two generations were 6-7 years. That may make the fourth generation 2016 or 2017.

Following ALL this obviously "...much ado...about nada..." saunter to nowhere, the Devil whispered this 'tongue-in-cheek' comment in my ear to post:

In my best fake-Japanese voice mimic'ing of Paul Revere: "...the GenIV Prii are coming, the GenIV Prii are coming..."

ITA, I don't care for the Lexus spindle shaped grille.

Looks like LED DRLs integrated into the headlights, and the fogs moved back under the turn signals, like the 2010/11.

It looks plausible. Also a bit like a Honda Fit, with the steep sloping hood flowing into windshield. The chrome on lower edge of front fairing (bumper) seems out of character.

I don't like how the glass areas keep creeping upwards, and the bottom edge of the windshield being higher than the adjacent door glass. Rear visibility is going to keep degrading I'm sure.

The "2015" is pretty exciting ;)

I hope to find the strength to not upgrade to the Gen 4 PiP. Because right now, life without car payments is pretty damn good.

That look is totally plausible. It looks like the Rav4. However, those rims are nasty.

from Consumer Reports Best Cars issue June 2014 (ISSN 1550 -4301)

    P.78 and I quote .....

"The power leather .... and the steering wheel didn't telescope far enough out for most people. The rear seat is very accommodating"

Isn't this what I was 'on the island' about?

It's amazing how little the above has been mentioned on Priuschat after all these years (5). I guess most can't be bothered by such trivial things like a primarily control in the car, like, the steering wheel.

I suppose steering with Google glasses or SLT would be much more exciting to talk about.

I respectfully disagree - external looks are also important to some of us.

Lately, various top Toyota officials have been stating their desire to make their cars attractive to a wider audience and most importantly, to make people want to buy their cars. These are very vague and seemingly light statements but not until you critically analyze against their traditional values and established culture. To me, these top-level goals speak of a longer term extension to their focus - one which retains their core values of reliability, good engineering and in addition envelopes modern trends in design.

I think we can all agree ..... we hope the above depiction was drawn by someone that had not seen the final design.

Several post back .... the chrome "flares" over the headlight were inspired by the NS4. I still think the NS4 inspired the Hyundai Accent designers LOL

I am not going to get too excited about the various artist depictions that we have seen thus far. I most definitely have my favorites, and a few that I would not have in my garage. We shall see ...... just not soon enough.

i do!:) i'll buy it no matter what it looks like, i'm more interested in the mpg tech. i saw a ct200h yesterday, the cockpit is much better than the g3, at least, looking in from the outside.

no prolemo. you're not really disagreeing, i was speaking for myself. i know a lot of people are concerned about looks, and some are even embarrassed to be seen in the current gen.
