The front end might be close to the new design, but I'll bet the green house rear of the A pillar will be slightly different. It's appears C&D just rendered the front end.

...I don't know if folks saw the recent post by the high Priustess, she corrected me and said the 2015 would be just a carryover year (for PiP anyway).

I hope Gen IV Prius does look like the NS4, like the front end look a lot. NY Autoshow opens on April 18, 3 weeks from now, I am ready but not sure we will see a Prius unveiling.

    Hmm?

But they are in dual production the Gen IV Prius and PiP. I'd imagine the v and c might carry over...

it would be a whammy if they release them all at once, but doubtful.

And I can't see how the hatchback would be out before the PiP...

Well ..... I have my doubts about the rendering. My vote is this is only another clumsy depiction. It certainly does not "knock my socks off."

...the only thing I can think of is of course the 2016 will likely hit the show room in 2015

What do you guys think? Will they come out the same time or not?

I'm seeing different ideas in different threads. I think Dianne mentioned that the PiP will be a carryover in 2015. Yet Toyota mentioned that they were being produced in parallel.

AND, yet there's a lot of sources saying the Gen IV will be released later this year.

What do you guys think? Do you guys think it would be a dumb move to release the hatchback before the PiP?

I think it could be, there was so much hype about the PiP in the first place and the Volt...I was also going to get the next gen PiP as the next hybrid. However, pushing it back to 2016 puts in squarely in a fight with the Volt 2.0 which might be a ballsy move.

Take into account that Toyota still doesn't feel confident in plugin electric (all electric at least) - Dianne may actually be right :(

    Thoughts?

I will be happy once the rumors end and real cars arrive.

With all due respect to Dianne (she seems like a great lady and saleswoman), I don't think we should be basing much stuff on what she says. And she has only said a couple things anyway. If salespeople knew that much stuff there would be WAY more rumors and facts of many types circulating around.

I wonder if there's a reason she's stopped hanging around this particular thread. She's been on another (PiP) saying that the next version will come out 2015 which could possibly make sense....I'm hoping to a wide range of releases, hopefully Edmunds is right about the redesign for all Prii. Are they ever wrong?

That would be a strong combo...please get the Li-iONS out here! The regular Prius will be even larger with Li-ion and the V will finally be a 7-8 seater like other countries....PLEASE!

And of course the PiP :p

We won't know for another few weeks....at least.

Old saying: "...GOOD things come to those who WAIT..."

So, in my best Dirty Harry voice: "...you feel like waiting, Prius owner?"

I'm expecting a LOT more change in the 4th gen Prius look. The above rendering simply looks just like a 3rd Gen Prius with a modified front end. Even the wheels are simply Prius Five wheels.

The 'hybrid world' needs an all new Prius soon. I don't see ANY other hybrid putting up sales numbers anywhere near the Prius liftback.

Not sure why all the talk about an all new Prius c and v. Said before, but it's not time for a new v or c. It IS time for an all new liftback / PiP.

Someone mentioned in C&D responses about Accord Hybrid being competition to Prius liftback. That's laughable. As nice as the Accord Hybrid is as a car, its sales won't ever make half of a liftback's sales. Most don't want a muted trunk in a fabric trimmed hybrid sedan that stickers for $30k. At that price they'll just get the conventional EX-L with leather, LDW, FCW, heated seats, and upgraded sound system for a grand less.

To me it doesn't matter if the PiP or regular is revealed first. If you've seen one, you've seen the other minus or plus a plug port.

The Lexus NX production model will be officially revealed April 20th and rumors are that it will feature an upgraded Hybrid Drivetrain.
The LF-NX Advanced Crossover Concept | Lexus

So it is possible, and seems very logical, that Prius Gen 4 will need to be announced before then - at least in the form of an official annoucement.

I'm with you cycledrum ...... in addition, the CF-NX is even worse. I examined the Lexus website, and if this is Toyota's new "design philosophy" I am becoming concerned about the G4.

Either the shrouded test mule was NOT the G4 coachwork ..... or there will be very minor changes. After looking at the Lexus website, I am suddenly hoping for the latter.
