I don't know if you are referring to my post or not but? Here in Hawaii the CT200h's, Prius V, Five's, and the HS250h's are not being optioned with the LKA for what ever reason. The LKA option is available in other locales though.

odd that you don't or read anything about this LKA. I took one on a test drive and it really works. wish I knew why they are dropping it on these other cars?

lots of people looking at the HS250h complained about high sticker price for loaded models, so they changed that around... if they put everything on it, then people would complain about it being 50k

Just goes to show how the AT-PZEV mode is just a political and financial game, something that Sacramento came up with.
The CT and Prius emissions systems are identical.

Another minus is that since the CT isn't AT-PZEV rated, for those in CARB states, they won't get the benefit of the 10 year/150K mile HV battery warranty nor the 15 year/150K mile emissions warranty that AT-PZEV vehicles like the Prius get.

Right, HV battery still has the 8 years / 100k miles warranty.

That's totally weird. My Accord Coupe is SULEV II / PZEV rated for CA. I doubt it is cleaner than a CT200h.

    hmmmmm.

(I do get the 15/150 emissions rating which kinda cool :)

The lower MPG is mostly attributable to the higher Cd.

Power, and thus energy used is in direct proportion to the Cd.
    CT200h Energy Consumed = (0.29 / 0.25 ) * Prius Energy Consumed

Gallons of gasoline burned is directly proportional to energy consumed
    CT200h Gallons Gas Consumed = (0.29 / 0.25) * Prius Gallons Gas Consumed

Since miles per gallon is inversely proportional to gallons gas consumed
    CT200h mpg = (0.25 / 0.29) * Prius mpg
    CT200h mpg = (0.25 / 0.29) * 50 mpg = 43 mpg

Your calculations hold only if every power sink is proportional to Cd.

Thanks for reminding me. I remember now... I believe the "A" of the CT200h is smaller than the "A" of the Prius.

I believe internal resistance & losses ought to be the same. Aerodynamic drag will vary by the way I described earlier.

The wheels & tires could introduce some additional variability that I did not account for.

Partly then, the other additional losses and counterbalanced by the gain by the smaller reference area.

Don't forget to multiply frontal area to the Cd. CT200h is wider but the height is lower. Overall, the frontal dimension is a bit smaller.

I believe the fact the CT has 17" or 18" wheels with wider non-LRR tires probably is a huge contributing factor. We have seen it multiple times on this forum where someone took a hit to their mpg by going to larger diameter wheels with wider tires, even when those tires were LRR!

Would be interesting to equip a stock CT with 195/65-15 LRR's and see what happens to gas mileage. Granted, you'd take a major hit to the Cool Factor, but...

oooh wow, that would not look good.

I still don't quite like the 3rd gen Prius in 17" wheels - they look a little bit too big for the car, and the tire profile looks too small to me. Geez, my Accord carries 17" wheels, but it's 191" long and wider.

As said before, dozens of times - I think the 3rd gen Prius would look its best in 16" wheels with 55 series tires.

I think Prius Five should have 16" wheels.

Heck, even the Leaf gets 16" wheels.

Yep . . . even the difference in rim size between the Gen III's Packages 1 thru 4 versus the package V rims made a teeny dent in mpg's.
