    They're probably estimating Japanese official fuel test figures, which are even more generous than the US ones were. I think the current Prius gets 80mpg(US) or so by the Japanese test.

    Don't forget the current Prius gets 84 US mpg under the Japanese test cycle. 94mpg is only 10mpg more.

    Does anyone know what Toyota's doing to get the MPG increase? Bigger battery?

    I assume no one knows of plans for a production PHEV from toyota...

    More powerful battery (do not know if it'll be bigger or not) and a very sophisticated 1.8 litre engine (it'll be miles ahead of our current 1.5 litre which has been around since 1999)
