Did you guys use glue or something on the lowe's ones cause I can't get mine to stay on, I bent the clips outward a little. I'm just scratching up my rim now. Please any tips!

Decided to replace my tired looking $3 electrical box knockout caps.
The Ebay versions cost $28 which is trivial and they look factory.

Good choice, I was using the hardware store version with Toyota emblems and they worked fine for me. I lost one after getting new tires so I went with the ones from ebay and one of them fit kinda loose, a dab of silicone has held it on fine for over a year.

They don't really work with black. If they came in black with a silver emblem....

I have the ebay chrome versions and I think they really look good on the black wheels. You could always spray paint them if you don't like the accent.

I'm trying to understand why Toyo's started painting the covered alloys gloss black. It makes it look more-and-more like a black steelie, even with the cover on. My take, and it seems a poor business strategy:

It irks them when customers aren't thrilled with their design decisions, pull the plastic wheel covers off. So they ugly-up the alloys even more.

I went to home depot and got the stuff to do these just waiting for the black paint to dry now. If I ever get sick of these I will probably just spend 30 bucks and get some TRD ones from ebay.

    Thanks for the great idea!

My Prius is supposed to be here next week, so I'm new and wondering if there is a mileage or brake cooling penalty for taking the covers off? I personally like black spoke wheels, so I'd like to take the covers off.

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg I bought these on Ebay too and painted them. I tried but it was just too difficult to mask the emblem and leave it chrome. If anyone has tried, please post pics. Thanks for all the tips!

The 1 - 1/2" Halex ones from Home depot are too small. The entire disc fits in the wheel hub. Got some from Lowes today and they fit

Count me in for cheap center caps. The wife thinks it is silly but the 6 year that helped thinks they look 'fancy'. Must be a guy thing.

Looks great. You said you bought them at Lowes. Is that the home improvement store?

Got a 2014 Prius 4 in my eyesight, first thing I'm doing is chuck the hubcaps. Saw a pic of the black alloys underneath, all I needed to see. Think it will look great, since it is the dark blue. What I need to find out is the quietest tire to use on it? Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the site, lots of knowledge and good information here. You'll enjoy the quiet with the right tires, Michelin or Continental and I'm sure there are others. I get better mileage with the Continentals, but the Michelins handle better. I've found that the folks at Discount Tire in Louisville are great to deal with and good prices, about 70 miles from me, but worth the drive. Post if you have the 15 or 17 inch wheels and I'm sure others will chime in with suggestions.
