if that 22 is vs the current 11, that's fabulous!

the only thing chevy figured out is a smaller car, with range extender.

So I was off about 25 miles ev. But I'm sure we may see some drivers get 30. I wonder if they are not extending usable battery. Also. Is it a 5 seater or 4? If it's a 4 it'll not be for me and be a step backwards! It's like trying to be a volt but not really... With lower range than the volt g1

    4 seats.....

And from what I've seen there's even no battery under the rear seats, that's even more weird...

But the rear seat folds 60/40..... I'm confused !!!

Edit : OK 4 seats

The Prius Prime looks and feels far from frugal on the inside, where a four-seat cabin layout, with center console running front to back, looks more like a high-end luxury coupe.

Well they built a more fuel efficient CMax and yes I see 30 miles EV in it under the right conditions (city only, good weather, etc).

22 miles range and only 4 seats... That's pretty unimpressive unless the cost is quite a bit lower than the last gen PIP.

You have to admit that Chevy led the way on 4 passenger seating....

Two adults, and two amputees. I was uncomfortable in the back of a Volt, and I'm 5'6".

If the Prime has the same rear leg room specifications as the regular 4th gen Prius then, according to Toyota, it will have less legroom than the 2016 Volt legroom specs. Chevy increased the new Volt legroom and Toyota shrunk their new Prius legroom.

So, rear seating may now favor the Volt -- slightly better Volt legroom and 0.5 extra seating with a middle rear seatbelt.

No. They're counting the room differently. The distance from the front of the rear seat to the back of the front seat is like 4-6 inches in the Volt with the front seats in the normal positions. It's probably twice that in the 2016 Prius.

Some good things and some bad here. Overall the fact that it will be available in 50 states and a reasonable, if not great, AER is nice. The 4 seat configuration cuts many potential buyers out of the market immediately...I know why they did it, but it still will hurt overall sales to families. Styling, the 11.6" display (hello, Tesla) and such are good selling points. It's going to have to be very competitively priced to compete with Volt however.
