You need to upload it in Advanced mode to post. Or you can just email it to me as usual.

I want to agree with u but right now its very hard seeing I have my mind set. I was sleeping in the rest area and when I woke up to leave there next to me was the prius v silver, this old man was transporting it. It looked so pretty. But as promised I will go to 500000.

I'm in South Florida and I have it down to $22.9k for a 2011Prius ii. I have to add tax and tag/title fees, but no dealer fees. Is that a good deal? Anybody know any dealers in Florida selling them cheaper ?

Here we go. I took the prius v for a nice test drive, very impressed. The power mode made it feel good along with the added space. I believe I could get at least 45mpg on highway. I also took the 2011 for a test drive, and was also impressed. I know I said I would go to 500 but forgive me please. I just have to make up my mind which one I want. They offered me 5000 for my car with 460000. I owe 8885. The 2011 with bluetooth no nav sticker 26620, 25200 out the door rolling over 3885. Prius v was sticker 29200 out the door 29200. I am really hoping I could defeat my desires but it is hard. Anyway what ever decision I make I again appreciate all the support u guys have give. I will still be in the prius family just at the bottom of the barrel. Again thanks.

Toyota does need a Prius V tester soon or later. Too bad they don't pay for it.

Update: I dont think I could over come my desires in this matter. Got a great deal for the V 500 under cost, thats right not sticker, cost. To make a deal breaker against the 2011, I will take a test drive on the highway, if i could maintain over 45 she's a winner, if not I will settle for the 2011. This dealer really wants my car. Since I already paid for this month, i will stay until around the 28 or 29 and also have an extra 45 delay on 1st payment. THe entune is nice I linked my phone to it, however I really dont need it with the nav seeing I already have it on my phone. The base radio has bluetooth and xm. And the extra space I dont really need but if the mileage is right (45 or better) she's mine.

Update: Just incase anyone is interested I finally today took the V on the highway, drove her just like i would drive my car with a little bit of back country roads also, total 46.5 Only gripe I have is when getting on highway she is definitely heavy, where u have to give a little more gas than usual. Very impressed with the power button although i didnt use to get on highway, when she is activated total difference. Did about 10 miles on highway with salesman as passenger. Would I buy yes can I use the 2011 yes. I have at least 2 weeks for the end of month to make a decision. Will go to another dealer to test drive the V again just to make sure, it is not a fluke, If I get 46.5 or higher she is a winner.

    2 fas for u,

I remember a short OT discussion about the costs of replacing a car, so I hope you do not mind me asking what interest rate the Prius v is being offered to you ?

How many miles do you estimate will be on your Prius in 2 weeks or so when you are trading in?

4.99 was the lowest offered. 75 months, no money down 500 month. Im paying 387 with about 2 years left, when my mind is final im pushing 487 max with the V. Since there is a better deal on the 2011 which lowest quote so far was 469 for 75 months i'll see if i could push 450.

    Thanks, 2fas4u.

That is not a bad interest rate, certainly much better than an earlier dealer offered.

If I am doing the 'rithmetic correctly, the $5k offered for your current car is about half what you owe (387*24.) That $4288 is upside down debt being tacked on to the new car price, so you are trying to finance about $33k -- right ? My finance calculator says the monthly payment works out to $513 -- so the numbers are making sense.

Here is the part that would make me run away from the deal if it was me: You cannot realistically hope ahead of time that the car will last longer than 3 years. You might get lucky, like your current car, but you cannot bank on it today. So in 3 years you will be 39 payments upside down, minus whatever that car is worth in trade-in. If we again estimate a future trade-in value of $5k, then a new car purchase in 3 years will have tacked on additional debt of 39*500 - 5000 = about $15,000. I wonder if that amount of debt will even let you finance a new car at any rate, let alone a monthly payment you can manage.

Choose wisely Prius friend, you are at something of a cross-roads. I'd also like to point out to you that if you keep your current car you can save a lot on insurance, since there is little reason to pay for comp and collision. Lastly, I would not ignore the difference is fuel costs. The 'v' will cost about 10% more than you spend on the G2. Each work day, that is 1.2 extra gallons of fuel, or $3.6 a day more if fuel is $3 a gallon. Tack on about $70 a month. So between extra fuel costs and more expensive insurance, a switch to a 'v' is another $100 - 125 a month to add to the operating costs over and above the straight monthly payment.

Pat Wong said it a long time ago in this thread, and his advice was spot on: figure your monthly payment based on a 3 year loan term. The current loan term offer is a sucker's game. Assuming a 3 year loan and everything else unchanged, the monthly payment is $990 to get you into a Prius v. The actual monthly operating cost (including the difference in more fuel and insurance costs) is over $1100 a month to not progressively accumulate debt. If that is more than you are able or willing to pay, then give your current wonderful car a pat on the back and stay your course towards G2 fame.

My friend u are a genius, however u are a little off. Total cost 487x75=36525 - 3885 roll over =32640 - tax title plates 1500 = 31140 - car about 27200 = 3940 approx which is interest. This is for the V. Basic car dont need nav, entune or sirius. Just the bluetooth would do me good which is about 26400 add floor mats and tint.

I guess no matter how I look at it i am going to lose. St augustine toyota has a 200000 20year warranty which should last about 2 years. If i keep the car all repairs would have to be payed up front. I am also aware that if I buy now this would have to be my last car like u said the roll over would be huge.

ALSO one of my decisions comes from the fact, which I dont want this to be a thread about religion, I am also aware of the times we live in and it is getting crazy so to the point I dont think we have that much longer, I really believe man is in the process of destroying the earth literally. According to the bible (prophecy) and the way man and society is going, how long do u really believe man (good) is going to put up with man (bad).

With that said I believe God has been good to me with my 2009 Prius and I can only hope he will be good to me with either the V or the 2011. I will give toyota a final call and let them know of my decision, if they help that would be good if not i am find with that.

Would definitely be priceless, u should see the look when I go to dealers for an appraisal, however I dont think the priceless would bring any more money to my pocket, seeing the achievement is overshadowed by the fact that gas is going up. Also it would take another 2 to 3 months to reach, thats way to much on my mind. If i get the V im going to wish I got the 2011, if I get the 2011 im going to wish I got the V, and no matter which of them I get, im going to wish I would have kept my 2009 and reach 500000. My friends I dont wish this on any body. SMH

So true! When I am faced with this kind of no-win choice, I choose not to choose. After all, I can always change my mind and pick later, if I do not choose today.

The trend is up, but there are always short term ups and downs. So long as you can time your car purchase when fuel prices are going down (even if only for a short while), market pricing will be on your side.
