True ...by the time the prime reaches Canada , you will be able to order the 2024 model in the States.....and maybe yellow could be offered then
Wasn't sure if there would be a separate thread for 2023 Prius Prime reviews but here goes: 2023 Toyota Prius Prime First Test Review: Bridging the EV Gap Seems the entire review is of poking fun at EVs and he's using the Prius Prime to do it.
Those of you who finally own 2023 Prius. This video makes the cabin view look expansive like the 2022 Prius. I guess it’s due to a great video angle that all reviews seem to have. When I sit in a 2023 the front view seems restricted. It’s as if the dashboard is taking away the expansive view and feels a bit claustrophobic. This is after I’ve raised the seat so I can see over the steering wheel (5’3”). Meanwhile my head is not far from the headliner. Are you getting used to this cramped feeling? I’m going to miss the expansive view in my 2009. Toyota if you are reading this please make a mini SUV hybrid that gets 50mpg soon…without a huge ugly plastic grill! (Corolla cross hybrid) Thanks!
I'm 6'3 barefoot, so when I got into the 2023 for the first time, I immediately noticed the cabin shrinkage. I would leave, debate whether or not I could be happy with the changes, come back, get in again, debate. Every time I got in, I adjusted to the view and space a little bit more. Then one time I reclined the seat one notch back and that sealed the deal. Perfectly comfortable. Having a sexy-looking fuel sipper is going to come with some trade-offs. The good news is, the more time you spend in the little beast, the better it feels. Shorties should have few complaints.
Thank you! Shorties…. : ) I can relate. I got in and out several times. Finally a Toyota sales woman who has race car driving experience showed me best seat adjustment for my height. She had me put the seat at the highest setting and told me to move it back more. I have to share what’s bothering me the most at this point. Crouching to get in (if you can do it…I can) and please don’t laugh…the softex/fabric piece that is between the dashboard and steering wheel. It covers the components that allow you to adjust the wheel position. It’s quite visible when steering wheel is adjusted for my height and I’m picturing it being very difficult to wipe down and eventually deteriorating. Similar material that’s typically on stick shift of manual car. I can still see the ugly peeling material on the stick shift of my Jetta. Maybe they’ve improved on the materials. I’m sure an expensive replacement will be available. Maybe I can drape a small scarf over it. : /
As a bonus of being 6' 3", unlike the rest of us, you actually get to see the Gen 5 information display behind the steering wheel.
Indeed. The HUD was clear and well positioned for me. But I'm guessing anybody can attain my vantage point with a little seat height adjustment. I position my seat all the way to the floor, then recline the seat back a notch from neutral. Perfection!
Thank you! This is actually what I tried doing. I just need to get used to it. Safer for head and neck. : )
You and me both! I've banged my head more than a couple times getting into my car. I now have a habit of holding my right hand up next to, and slightly above, my head when dropping into my car so as to provide a warning of sorts when I get lazy.
idk what the newer miata has for hp, but my 91 was pretty pokey. just fun on tight curvy roads with the 4 speed manual
Nice review by an engineer who measures paint depth. Glad to see they are making it thicker on the hood!!
The red is really nice. I think Prius looks best in the red but I just can’t do it. : } I saw a BZ4X in the same red with a black roof at dealership and it was gorgeous!
