Myself, I'd like to know (primarily for the Prime):
    • Fuel tank capacity on the Prime as well as the regular Prius; projected HV range
    • With the bigger Prime battery, is there a mode to allow some flexibility in battery discharge on the mountains and highways to support the gas engine? à la Volt Mountain Mode / Clarity HV Mode
    • Are there more display options to see some more numerical details, e.g. engine and battery power output/input in kW and battery % SOC (unlikely as this might be)?
    • Is the Prime battery liquid-cooled? Is there a battery heater and/or heat pump?
    • Can active driving assistance features (e.g. Proactive Driving Assist, Lane Change Assist) be turned off?
    • Dimensions of the 17" tires
    • Drag coefficient
    • Interior dimensions and seats up/down cargo capacity
Is 91 recommended in the US? (If the Gen 5 uses the M20A engine in the Corolla Cross Hybrid and gas Corolla, those can take 87, can't they? What about the UX 250h?)

The question of octane came up from a footnote in a video about needing 91 to get the full power rating. A similar footnote appears for some Lexus models in the US. Aside from that footnote, the Lexus site doesn't mention octane. Had to go to fueleconomy.gov to see the UX250h listed as regular. I'm expecting Toyota USA to list the new Prius as regular regardless of whether the engine can make use of higher octane.

Forgot to add that the UX hybrid gets an orange and a green among the usual Toyota color choices.

Tomorrow is the big day! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Prius Prime first drive is later in the early Spring, from what I'm told, so this will focus on the hybrid Prius.

Thanks man! I need to know the ground clearance, although you may not be able to determine this. It will determine if I get a Prius or a Rav4 Hybrid. I have 2 Priuses now, and they are both just a tad low for my needs. I appreciate it.

There’s a difference of 2” between the two, no? (~5” for the current Gen and 7-8” for the RAV4)

There is a lift kit for the V. I wonder if it's available for the regular Prius?

I wonder if with the gen 5, the pedestrian alert or the abnoxious ufo sound will be changed for something sweeter:whistle:

What do the new head restraints feel like? Do they get in the way? Bonk your head? (My wife hates the forward head restraints in cars because they tend to poke her in the head.)

Also, from one of the videos online it looks like the 120V outlet is not available on any of the trim levels. Is it only on the Prime? And if so, which trim levels?

In parts of the video (probably breaching NDA ), you can hear the new sound. To my ears, it does not sound as obnoxious as my Prius PHV 2021.

They FINALLY made a decent looking Prius (gen 4, mid-model refresh), so why did they go the completely other direction for the 5??

I know looks are subjective, but it's already a deal breaker for me.

Oh...I'm NOT the only one who thinks this one looks worse.

However, looks don't matter to me.

Yeah I'm not sure of the faux trunk lid either, unless he means that whole plastic piece in the rear of the Gen 4 attached to the metal part. (the plastic piece would house the emblems and is a "n" shape with the licence plate area the "real" metal taillgate.. maybe that's what he meant by faux)

The little ledge formed by the spoiler at the back of the car to given the gen4 a more sedanish profile. The gen5 went back to the declining slope to the very rear of the gen 2 and 3.

Not as big as the Corolla's, but its there.

The gen4 was busy with the creases. The new Prius looks cleaner.
