Update: My dealer got some 2023s in. Not my requested config tho.

But for those who are curious, at least one dealer in the US has received a shipment of 2023 Priuses...

Whenever someone actually posts a price paid, can we make that the real thread and nuke all these comments?

For what it’s worth, I do see one allocated to Sam Leman Toyota in Illinois (it’s on their website). It’s the only one within 500 miles of me.

There needs to be an antitrust investigation into car dealerships. FTC should throw the book at these MSRP gougers and start breaking up the big dealership groups. Otherwise, Ford's tough line with dealers on EVs and Tesla ditching them altogether are the only two ways forward.

Another thing to do is to simply not buy a car if it is not sold at MSRP. But the S there tells a different story and “legally” (?) allows them to price the cars as they please.
As long as people buy them at whatever price they sell them, or even go and offer Xk$ on top from the get-go to get one, there is no way moving forward. It’s also the consumers that should change their behaviors. Buying above MSRP only enables and validated the dealerships’ selling practices.

Once in a while, Italy is anticipating the rest of EU country.

Just opened a prebooking with 250 Eur refundable deposit for the Prius 2023 PHEV (Eu name for the Prime).
It gives a first come, first served right on the delivery list + free 1385 kWh recharge card (1 year validity).

I did prebooked the car. Only one trim available and 2 colours at this stage, but not really of any use, it wasn't a real configuration.

Prices and opening of orders specified for April 18, which will probably be the same all over EU and perhaps worldwide.

    Just to let you know.

Thanks for the info! It's interesting to hear not only what options are available in Europe, but dates and other specs, many of which haven't yet been released in North America for the PHEV/Prime.

Well, the interesting bit i guess is just the date of April 18th, specs are so variable depending on countries that is hardly of any use.
The mini-configurator showed just one trim, called Lounge, that in EU corresponds to the Top Spec (as the Limited) and is specified only the Solar Roof as option. Only 2 colors, that dull gray and mustard yellow, the one used for the presentation, but it means nothing.

As far as Italy and some other EU country is concerned, as the Gen 4 Plug-in, probably the only available version will be just that, the full optional Lounge.
But the Gen4 had the solar roof as standard equipment, the 2023 optional for sure, because this is largely specified since the beginning.

I plan to buy a 2023 Prius Prime XLE as soon as its available, but I will never buy from a dealer. I will only buy online at exactly MSRP at CarsDirect or TrueCar.
