Smart Key: What we're used to. Key fob that unlocks the doors and allows for keyless entry and start. LE - We don't know exactly XLE - Standard Limited - Standard Digital Key: Option that allows you to use your phone as a smart key. (requires Remote Connect subscription) LE - Not available XLE - Option Limited - Standard
They're calling the smartphone app thingy "digital key" the Smart Key System (SKS) is what we're used to where you keep the fob in a pocket/purse/bag and touch the door handle to unlock/lock. Here is where I first noticed the discrepancy where XLE/LTD specifically had a box for 3 door SKS but no mention at all of what the LE would get as far as SKS/Key: Official 2023 Toyota Prius Pricing, Packages, & Options | PriusChat
It said nothing about the key for the LE at all. It could be one door smart key, classic remote fob with push button start, or that fob with an actual key. It is a truncated feature list, and people are assuming the worse with the blanks. Production is just starting, and it will focus on the upper trims at first. The exact features of the LE aren't set in stone yet. Like others, Toyota has had to decontent cars just in order to ship them. They are likely taking a wait and see approach for some things in the LE.
Hm... how quick could they add it to the LE if it doesnt have it to begin with? How quick do they change these things? Another big disappointment for me: no beige interior, and grey interior has ugly black doors/dashboard. Do you think they could add a beige or at least make a more unified version of the gray interior with gray doors/dash soon? How long has it taken them to introduce new interior colors/options in the past? Would a dealer be able to switch out hte door panels and dashboard panels for you if they made a lighter gray version if you bought the current gray and they changed it afterwards? Or is it very unlikely that it would even match up right?
horrible! I shudda bought the 22 even with the delays, feel like an idiot now for waiting lol. really should have gotten the 21 when all hte super sales were happening
BTW can anyone tell if the long (plastic?) panels below the screen and heating vent white or silver? I think these might be the panels that light up with the blue LED
Call around and ask. Today, Monday, I went in for my 5K mile checkup, at my dealership - Wellsley Toyota (near Boston MA). When I was there, they still had a new 2022 Prius Prime LE, and a new 2022 Prius Prime Limited available. For various reasons, the original people the cars were assigned to, backed out. No Prius Hybrids. All other vehicles were 2023 model years. Fwiw, typically, my dealership, deals mainly (/"only") with people that live locally (Boston/Wellsley/Lexington/etc). They also do not charge over MSRP. Fwiw, the last 2 weeks in December is often when the best deals are done (assuming take delivery by end of December). Of course, that means buying what is on the lot. It's the year-end/year-total sales-quota, and sales-numbers push.
Silver in the HEV Prius. It's actually a pattern made up a medium and dark gray on a mildly reflective light gray/silver background. It doesn't light up at all, but it's shiny enough to slightly reflect the light from the LED strip. 12:25
Hey guys-- For those who dont like the black doors: Go to Ah I see, it looks like they are trying to make the Cutting Edge the most unified color then. They used to have some white-pearl plastic parts of the steering wheel that matched the wind-chill pearl exterior but was present in cars of all exterior colors. (This is how my current beige interior is, with black exterior, I always felt they were trying to say "get the windchill and it all comes together perfect!" Now I feel like they're doing that with Cutting Edge/Silver. But silver can look drab when dirty, I really was getting my heart set on wind chill...grrr)
Fwiw, I just saw the link below posted in Reddit. It's for Primes. My guess is that it's a NY dealership. Code: 3 new PP in stock: 2 limited and 1 LE @ MSRP https://www.reddit.com/r/PriusPrime/comments/zqvrqu/3_new_pp_in_stock_2_limited_and_1_le_msrp/
My guess is that the dealership is located in Nirobi and they want you to pay with target gift cards.
Nope. And, you clearly have not been following the Gen4 new purchase thread. Nor, the new car market. I had three reservations, from three States, and I barely got my 2022 Prius Prime after 6-9months. You do know there is this thing called "The InterWeb". And, every new car dealer is on it. Heck, you can do a Google Street view of the dealership. Fwiw, for people in Calf, for the past two years, many Prius/Rav4 buyers have been buying from NY and VT, and having the vehicles shipped to CA. Yes, it was cheaper, and faster, than buying from a rip-off Calf dealer. And, Longo's wait list is miles long (they sell at MSRP). I also had reservations at those "common" NY and VT dealerships. ... But, BFD, if a mega volcano exploded centuries ago. Today, is today, and is different than yesterday. Imho, people that are in the new car market, should spend at least some time, and know "the market today". Same for people buying non cheap used cars. Fwiw, I leg-hump YAA on youtube for both new and used car buyers. I hope they stay successful. Imho, they are an invaluable source of information for new and used car buyers. I've known a lot about dealerships, since I was a teen. Also, one of my former co-workers put himself through Grad school buy selling cars. Add in youtube, former car salespeople on youtube/etc, and now YAA & Steve Lehto, and wow, just wow. There are many MEGA scum dealerships and salespeople. There are also a few good Dealerships, like Longo(CA) and Wellsley(MA).
