Unfortunately, sales weasels know very little about cars, less about hybrids and ev’s, and nothing about how often a certain car should be driven.
That’s why they invented the internet and places like Prius chat, for people who like to learn about a purchase before buying

It’s too bad they can’t send us an OTA update to program the use of a portion of the READY mode to trickle charge the 12V say after off for 2 hrs (i.e. overnight). The HV battery had so much capacity to do this I believe. Instead of having users decide whether this makes sense for them to trickle charge manually.

Maybe trade it in on a standard alternator equipped gas car now, being the Prius are in short supply.
My 2020 discharges fast, I use a battery monitor and it’s like 100% charge, then 70-80% in the morning. Watching the charging on the monitor as I drive, it is slow. Sometimes I sit in the car in ready mode and watch it charge for 10-15 mins to go up 4-5%, but that gets old fast.
People who don’t have a battery monitor aren’t seeing all this data. The car starts, and so all is good. Maybe it’s not.
You are lucky to have the battery in the back to easily hook up a charger.
Check your equipment list from the dealer and see if they installed a lojack.

@Graystar1955 your story is not fun to read in any possible way of looking at it. I'd have no way of understanding how I'd feel if I were treated the way your story reads. But I'll venture to say, I wouldn't be happy, that's for damn sure. :censored:
