Ok! Did you get an awd version or front wheel? Please post pics and your thoughts whenever you do get it!

Front wheel drive, because leather is not available (in the UK) in the AWD.

I'll be sure to post pics, it should be white pearl with 15" wheels

2019 is a carryover model for all intents and purposes.

Lol. Yup. And Moonstone interior is now an option.

First 2019. I’ve seen a number of 2018s here (they’re all 2018s since 2017 was only available in Quebec) and a number of 2017/2018 ones in Quebec when I visited.

I just noticed that LTA is not included in European version. I thought it was said somewhere that refreshed version will also get TSS 2.0 is it only LTA that is lacking or is this still the old TSS 1.0?

I still have my 2004 Prius, so I'm finally starting to consider a new one. I've mostly ignored Toyota's offerings for the past 15 years so I'm not familiar with how they've structured trimlines lately.

Looking at the 2019 brochure, am I interpreting it correctly that the only way to have an on-board nav system is to get the Limited? I don't see any any packages for other models that mention nav nor do any models' blurbs mention nav other than the Limited's.

Another question -- according to the brochure the non-AWD models have about 3 cubic feet more cargo space. Where is that coming from? Is the floor of the hatchback area lower or something?

Finally, I see that the non-AWD XLE comes with 17" wheels and P215/45R17 tires. I've driven 15" wheels and P195/65R15 tires for 15 years so I'm curious what the pros & cons are of the larger wheels and lower-profile tires with respect to a Prius. I do see that the P195/65R15 tires are cheaper, and that'll add up over time.

(FWIW, we're interested in the XLE, but don't believe that for us it's worth spending the extra $1000ish to get the XLE-e. On the other hand, the only way to get 15" wheels on the plain XLE is to spend $800ish for the moonroof package. So if we were gonna do that, maybe just go up $200 more and get the XLE-e after all. Though then we lose the 3 cu ft of cargo volume. Decisions decisions...)

Why do we lose 3 cu. ft. of cargo? Is that based on awd models? I wasn't aware of that.

Must be something to do with how the AWD affects the floor of the hatchback maybe? Though it's also true of the non-AWS LE.

According to the spec sheet towards the end of the brochure (I can't post links yet but just google for 2019 Prius Brochure):
    • L Eco - 27.4 ft^3 cargo volume
    • LE - 24.6
    • XLE - 27.4
    • Limited 27.4
    • LE AWD-e - 24.6
    • XLE AWD-e 24.6

Just TSS-P 1.0. Apparently 2.0 is hardware based not software so Toyota will probably not update until the redesign. Likewise, when we get 3.0, the cars with 2.0 won’t be updated until their redesign.

The ones with the largest cargo area have no spare tire. AWD and the LE have the same space as the AWD has the rear electric motor and the LE has the spare tire.

Rear electric motor has to go somewhere. It’s the same size as those models with the spare tire (that includes 2016-2018 models).

This then is false from the official European PR:
The new 2019 Toyota Prius with AWD-i intelligent all-wheel drive

    SECOND GENERATION TOYOTA SAFETY SENSE
...Second generation Toyota Safety Sense, fitted as standard to all versions of the new Prius, includes upgraded versions of the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert, Road Sign Assist and Automatic High Beam. It also introduces Lane Tracing Assist, which provides more advanced driving support. ..
And latter from the Geneva PR, no more mention of LTA or second generation TSS:
New 2019 Toyota Prius with intelligent all-wheel drive

Probably, yes. Although you guys get the new JBL with Clari-Fi technology. And you get nav instructions back on the HUD.

Update: apparently both might be right.

Other Euro members are reporting that the Prime/PHV produced after May 2019 will get TSS-P 2.0 and 5 seats (as well as a 360° camera)

Miss my two cats but I am not sure I can deal with the constant care with my wife on chemo and me going to VA for surgery and hoping they just fix my foot and not cut off my leg.

    We need cat visitors!

Yep all I got left. But folks could sing on key with understandable lyrics. That is why we rememeber.
