Well that will wrap it up for the Camry. Traded it for a 2021 Dodge Challenger RT with a HEMI for my wife for our 10 year anniversary.

Congrats! Quite a bit different from the original list lol. But definitely one of the last times to enjoy such a beast.

Will you remove the yellow protectors, or leave them on?

Exactly. It is a stupid dinosaur of a car. When I asked my wife what she wanted she said an old Nova. The Challenger is the closest modern vehicle. I figure everything will be electric by the time we buy our next vehicle, which is fine by me. My wife wanted a beast and she got one. I miss my nice quiet Camry but being retired I don't drive enough to matter. She is happy and that is what matters.

Wow there is quite a debate on that issue. They have been removed, for now. If they go back on they will need to be attached better. I expect them to stay off unless the corners get damaged and we need to cover that up...

Always a good move to keep the wife happy.:)

Our 2018 HyCam LE is going strong at 43k miles and continues to make my wife and I happy. (y)

Best of luck to both of you with the new unit!

My car is now my wife's old car, an Elantra with an automatic.

Driving for good mileage is not nearly as rewarding as the Camry was but I not doing too bad, considering... 20220512_131624.jpg

Between the need for a winter warm-up and the short trip distance taking the kid to school my Elantra has been getting around 32mpg but today it got to spend a little time on the highway going 55-60mph.

    Not bad Elantra, not bad.

About as good as my Honda Civic Hybrid did on the highway... 20230127_094612.jpg

Nice! My humungous 2012 Sonata routinely gets around 35MPG on the highway at 70mph or so. Not bad. Not as good as a hycam ,etc...of course. However, much better keeping the Sonata for now vs. buying a new car....plus it only has 55k mile on it. (y)

On the other hand, the MPG of our Elantra GT hatchback is pretty disappointing. The Sonata beats it handily.

A poster at Cleanmpg got an Elantra hybrid recently, and has managed over 80mpg on their commute. Hyundai might have cancelled the Sonata hybrid though.:(

I had no trouble getting about 36 out of a rented Sonata last year, doing easy highway driving.

I also rented a 2022 Camry (not hybrid) and got 44 driving it the same way. That really impressed me.

Do you happen to check your rental's tire pressures?

IMG_3193.jpeg IMG_3194.jpeg A final note to this thread, our new ’24 hycam, not much different from our ’13. I can’t wait to try The mpg’s
