    Spring and fall are the best seasons for efficiency. When there isn't wild swings in temperatures.

    Today was excellent for MPGs, got around 70 or so. Maybe a little less on the way to work, maybe a little more on the way home. The average for the current tank is now over 59 MPG displayed.

    I've been remembering some of my mileage tricks and it was warm hence the great mileage. Please don't expect to match my mileage figures unless you have similar advantages (small town, light traffic, fairly long commute, off peak hours, hypermile experience, etc.).

    I'm not bragging so much as trying to keep people from being disappointed.

    The current tank just hit 60 MPG displayed which I figure will be good for about 57 MPG at the pump.

    Do you have an overall MPG from when you bought it? You might be able to read it with the TRIP set to ODO if it's like PRIUS, though the dash display is likely optimistic.

    Lifetime displayed is a hair over 52 MPG on the 2018 HyCam which I figure translates to about 49 MPG at the pump since the display is around 5% optimistic. Warmer, drier weather combined with leaving earlier for work and advanced hypermiler techniques have the more recent tanks higher.

    One of the curious things I do to get better mileage is to take a shower right before work. This leaves me with a wet head and therefore reduces the want for AC.

    This will mark the 3rd vehicle in some 15 years I've driven for mileage. The first was actually a Corvette which I was able to milk up to 40 MPG out of. Next came a Civic Hybird which delivered over 80 MPG on one tank. Finally there is the HyCam. I doubt the HyCam will ever be able to match the Civic if for no other reason than that there is more traffic and several new stoplights which make the commute less ideal than it once was. I was very impressed with the 70ish MPG round trip the other day.

    But Fuelly compiles the data the user enters into serviceable charts and tables that all can view. Plus allows direct comparison to other users' data with that model;)

    Just be warned that the AC is not only for your comfort. The HV battery needs cool air to avoid overheating in warm weather.

    That's because, while they list the plugin as a car choice, they don't let you factor in the EV/HV data to get mpge or cost per mile. Just raw miles per gallon at the pump.

    That's because they get vehicle databases, like what car part sites use.

    They filter outliers from the research section. Mainly, this was done to keep hypermilers, wrongly filled entries, and fake accounts from skewing a model's results. You can include all to entries if you want, and you can always post links to your individual data.

    With 2016 PRIUS, they've removed 5% of entries to the statistics - which would be those well outside the bell curve - but I doubt they remove them entirely.
