2018 Camry and Camry Hybrid Official Thread

i feel like the click comes when you let off the brake. what happens if you are just pressing and releasing the gas pedal?
fwiw, our '13 hycam pedals don't make any sounds.

 

The gas pedal makes a single click every time I press down about 1/4 of an inch. If I could just locate what's making that sound, I would happily pay to have that part replaced, as my personality is making me concentrate on the click and not all the other wonderful aspects about the car. I've brought it up to my dealer's service department and they said it's normal. I drove another Camry Hybrid LE, and the sound was there too, though not as loud. After reading that there are others that don't have that click, I think it's something that can be fixed but I can't find anyone who knows what it could be. I can also hear it when the cruise control is on and accelerating up from "coasting" and my foot isn't operating the pedal, so I'm almost sure it's not a switch inside the pedal.

 

frustrating. i would hit a few more dealers for test drives, since no one else here seems to have the problem.
since any dealer can do the warranty work, if you can find one that doesn't click, you can point it out to them and ask for repair.

 

We have a 2018 Camry Hybrid LE rental right now. It works fine, but honestly, it's kind of a boring car to drive. Soon as I started to drive it out of lot, it's like whoaa, that steering is light and numb like a video game. The power delivery, the way it drives is kinda boring, but it's quiet on the highway.
