Toyota and Honda include driver assist as standard. Everyone else charges and the $3k is in the competition range. As for paint, I like blue. Bob Wilson

It is but even basic autopilot, the superior TSS-P equivalent is $3k. Both Chevy and Hyundai required the most expensive trim PLUS an option charge measured in thousand dollars and a custom order which gave the dealer a ‘blank check.’ At 69 years, I want technology to extend my driving years. So too does everyone else with a working brain. Bob Wilson
Yes and no. Only no if one had no federal tax liability. You get the full credit available to that vehicle if you have the same or greater federal tax liability for that year of purchase. In the case of any Tesla which is in federal tax credit phase out, if one has less than $3750 in tax liability, say $2000, one would get only a $2000 credit. Depending on the vehicle battery size, before phase out, the maximum federal credit is $7,500. The Prius Prime, with a smaller battery, only qualifies for a $4,502 federal credit before phase out. Again if one has less than $4,502 in tax liability in this case, say $2000, one would get only a $2000 credit. The current Fed tax credit is good for anybody who owes tax, even wealthy taxpayers. The old old 2006 hybrid credit had an income hurdle problem that was bad news (impacted many if not most buyers) and Congress avoided it after that mistake.
Tesla offered me $9,100 for my 2012 basic Plugin Prius. It’s in pretty good shape, always garaged, and only 50k miles. So will ask Carmax for quote and if similar maybe will sell on private local market.
Silver. Has a Curt trailer hitch that I used to attach a bike rack, never towed anything. I’m sitting in CarMax now after work waiting on a quote.
CarMax just offered $9,500, good for 7 days. Think I’ll just wait for the Model 3 to arrive and try a private sale, KBB estimates car at $10k.
