The red and silver cars were outside. The red was definitely the "show" car because it was on the stage with all the spot lights aimed on it. This is why most of the journalist photos you see are of the red car. Toyota wanted it that way. However, it was 90ยบ on the roof. The black car was inside where it was air conditioned but the ambiance was kept relatively dark Very difficult to get good pictures of a black car in the dark.

I had forgotten how quickly cars lose the extra storage as they go up in size. I agree there is a balance, but are the designers assuming that people buying a small car can't afford a home, and need the extra storage for that reason, or that it would be beneath the people buying the larger cars to leave things inside them?

Counterintuitive but true. That's why so many clowns can pack into a tiny car?

Did anyone take a picture of the center console and glove box open with light illuminating the inside?

The interior of the cars were dark or had massive shadow issues. There were bright spot lights on the cars so the interior lights didn't do anything to help with lighting. Also, the bright spot lights meant that there were issues with lighting when taking photos (either from the contrast of dark and bright areas, people walking in front of the light, or taking photos with the spot light facing the camera).

There's no light in the centre console but the glovebox does have an amber light illuminating the inside.

Thanks. When I said "light illuminating the inside", I was thinking camera flash, preferably bounced, not a car-supplied internal light. That glove box looks crazy small. Is it only partially open?

Yeah, that's a good example. In my mind it's a little different since that's an effect that can be diminished either with a wrap or by purchasing the OEM Honda "Sport Grill" which is a little less chromified. I'm not sure what, if anything, one could do about the fins. The best a detractor can hope for is that some colors don't show them off as much as others.

Don't get me wrong, I hope you're right that people will take to it. I'm just not as optimistic that they haven't overreached.

It doesn't sound like a lot, it IS a lot.
But I suspect being there, was a much more satisfying experience than an internet viewing of the release. Which I think most people perceived as spartan and lacking.

So thanks, the shared photo's bring a depth to the experience that simply doesn't exist with the short internet reveal.

I may be dense, but is there a thread for these 700 pics. Can't find them.

Thanks. Nice black. Gives the care a little more of a mean look. Also seems to work better (to me) with the white wheel inserts.

    No, it's stupidly small.

It has bluish specks so under the light, it looks bluish black.

    thank you sir.
Did anyone notice if the vents block any of the displays behind it? From the camera shots, it looks like it would.
Also, dang those water marks. Big and centered. Would be nice if they were smaller and out of the way, but i understand they have to be there.

Did anyone take a pic of center console on the silver prius? They said it was a lower end model without the white (i believe that's what someone said)
    thanks again

I'm working on cleaning some of them up. The opacity and placement should be fixed on them tomorrow.

How many speakers does the new JBL system have ?
Is it finally a dolby surround system as it is in the the Mirai ?
    Mirai has 11 speakers !

    MERGED

Maybe the picture is taken from a different angle, but this is image of the European Prius glovebox .
    Seems bigger to me !

Hmm, the black and silver car at Las Vegas have the same wheel cover design but the black car has portions of the wheel cover painted in black while the silver one is, well, a normal silver wheel cover.

Yeah it does seem bigger in that photo. I don't know, I did put my hand inside the box and it did feel smaller than the Gen 3.

I only recall seeing 6 speaker grilles (one in each door, and one at the the base of the windshield on each side). It's possible that the ones at the base of the windshield could be housing two for a total of 8 speakers (similar to how the old Gen 1 Camry Hybrid's JBL audio is set up. It's "8 speakers in 6 locations")

Maybe there are speakers located so where in the back !?
MY JBL system in my gen 3. never sounded very premium,so I hope Toyota did a better job with the JBL in gen. 4 !

Did anyone look under the front seats? Is there nav crap and a subwoofer under them like in my gen 2 or are they clear?
