Is there always those white plastic parts in all interior colour options?

Well you have to take into account that in the most of the world price per gallon is about 8$, so MPG is, apart from price the #1 factor - and this car isn't aimed only towards USA as many people seem to think.

Just the dashboard piece where the shifter is. The lower steering wheel piece and the lower console piece with the Qi Wireless Charger is optional. There were models with an all black steering wheel (except for two thin strips) and a black lower console bin.

gen4 should be at SF auto show which starts this weekend (show banner has pic of it). Wonder if it will be on floor, unlocked or roped off, look but don't touch. Toyota has drive event at show after T'giving, probably going to be 3rd gen Prius though.

Gen 4 Three in Sea Glass Pearl at SF Auto Show. It has the lightweight fabric tonneau cover and Harvest Beige two tone fabric seats.

I like the "Prototype" designation. Maybe I'll have that put on my car just to make people think.

The base model has dark coloured trim, that's level's 2 and 2 Eco:

If you want to avoid white trim, AND have a temp spare tire, it's whittled down to level 2 only.

except for the black tray accessory. maybe if it's popular, they'll add stick on covers for all the white.

Yes, I was thinking maybe the white might be more durable, but I also know those places are dirt collectors.

I suspect the urinal white surfaces will be a popular target for the after-market suppliers. Faux wood grain as well as various colors will be offered.

BTW, I am really anxious to see the new Prius in person, because pictures of the vehicle are not improving my first impression. IMHO, it's just clumsy, certainly not attractive. Too bad Toyota didn't enclose all the wonderful technological improvements in an attractive exterior.

This forum will provide years of entertainment as people endlessly discuss the edgy design, porcelain console and such.

What I find confusing is why Toyota feels they need to make the Prius so 'different' and futuristic (especially interior) to stay ahead of the hybrid competition. There is no real competition to the Prius. Futuristic interior must be what Prius lovers want, borne out of focus groups and customer feedback. Anyhow, enjoy your new Prius'. I will have a very nice, low miles (33k to date) gen3 for sale next year.

Why disco, I didn't realize you paid that much attention to my post. I suppose I have expressed the opinion before, but I can't keep straight on which threads I have expressed my thoughts. Thanks anyway.

cycledrum mentions the "futuristic interior," and comments on the wants of "Prius lovers and focus groups." I haven't paid that much attention to the interior, except for the "Darth Vader" centerpiece. I would never get into the car without thinking of that.

The Prius had to be designed for a world-wide market, and perhaps there are more affluent youthful owners elsewhere. But here in the western US, I don't see that many youthful/futuristic buyers. So many "millennial's," if in the new car market, are looking at less expensive cars. My grandchildren all drive used Corollas and Civics.

BTW (I have also said this before) I really am enjoying the 2015 Avalon-Hybrid. My only regret is it does not have the latest Prius technology, but I have not read that the 2016 will either. IMO, it is a beautiful automobile. It does everything well, except my fuel efficiency is 42 mpg instead of 52.

I wonder about the durability of the G4 interior textures, seems like a lot of gloss on that dash, gonna show every fingerprint, scratch?

perhaps, if you're losing money on every car, you don't want to encourage too many people to buy it.
