heated mirrors come on when you turn on the rear defroster CC probably went off because you accidentally tapped the brakes - that will disengage it audio settings are your own call…just pick whatever sounds best to you. touring should play MP3 and WMA though that might require a package you can change balance and fader settings in the same place you adjust treble and bass you should have a distance to empty selector on the trip meter
I would like to mention to those who bought or intend to buy a 2016, both those with GII as the previous car and those who have never owned a Prius. There are many things in the GIV that were in the GIII but not in the GII. Just in case you were wondering how so many of us seem to understand how to operate the GIV, even though we don't have one. Oh, and this is not a criticism of your posting. Always good to hear your questions and comments! Keep them coming!!
Driving on cruise control requires confidence and practice. Worse, it is seldom done with an experienced driver to help with confidence. The same is true with shifting into "N" while driving. For fun, I have them shift into "R" often enough to realize 'it won't blow up.' No fault, no foul, I appreciate their attempt. Bob Wilson
They're tied to the rear defroster. (There's a mirror icon on that button) Cruise control is a convenience feature. In rolling terrain, you can get much better mileage holding the accelerator and letting the speed vary. For example, a 50mph stretch of highway with undulations nets me 50mpg if I use the cruise for the round trip. Using my foot and exploiting "Super Highway Mode", I got 69mpg for the same round trip. Best audio settings? That's probably a bit of personal preference as well as the type of music being played but also it requires other owners of 2016 models to chime in. There's two systems - base and the JBL GreenEdge so that'll make a difference (quality of speakers, amps and the number of speakers). Typically, I bump the Treble +1, Mid -1 and bass is adjusted according to input (radio, CD, iPod). It may not be the case for the 2016's audio system but you could try that first. This setting works for most Pop songs. Classical and Rock will require different settings. Page 127 of your navigation owner's manual: No chart but really just do some simple math. What's your mpg and multiply that by the size of the tank. Keep in mind that the low fuel light will come on with 10 litres left in reserve (~2.6 gal). On the Gen 3, I can typically drive 125 miles past the low fuel light in the summer before it's nearly empty. I usually do half of that (~60 miles) and refuel then.
I am now the proud owner of a Sea Glass Pearl (i.e., light green) Prius 3 w/ATP (I paid dealer invoice). I love the radar controlled Cruise Control. When enabled it automatically braked the car when the vehicle in front of me came to a compete stop (an admittedly extreme adjustment in the cruise speed!).
big fan: gorgeous, congrats! chosen one: i think the heated mirrors come on with the rear defroster? not sure. vince22: i like the gunmetal.
With regard to audio adjustments, in my gen 3 w/jbl stereo, I set everything to flat on the car audio and set eq on my phone for bluetooth playback.
I agree! And I truly think the new wheel covers do the car justice as well. I like the blend of silver and black. Good stuff!! Are all the 2016 Prius wheels under the covers silver? I do prefer the black of my old 2013.. Black wheels on a BP Prius are gorgeous.
Thanks for the reply. How many gallons does the 2016 Prius hold again? 11.3 gallons? Also I hear an annoying clicking sound when I first start the car and drive. It stops after like 10 minutes. Any idea what that is?
How does the driver priority work in practice with AC? I understand it somehow helps driver to get airflow better. And is there any air vents for backseat passengers? There was one Youtube video related to the topic but that did not explain it very well. ps. Getting mine in early May. Total price ~$43k with extras that I took (special red color, plus package, winter tires and pre-heater). We have three models to choose from, this is the middle one. Premium model would cost + $5000 more, which brings leather seats and tech package. So I have to "survive" without those now.
So I see you have back up proximity warning on the bumper. Which models have that? Merged Exactly, I only use it to rest my cramping and going to sleep legs. After 14 years of hybrid driving I have a calibrated foot.
Sadly no: the 17" look pretty crappy with the silver plastic inserts off, they're glossy black, spindly looking, and have utilitarian lugs in the outside corner of each spoke with holes for the plastic inserts. I prefer my third gen 17" rims, think Toyota is out-to-lunch completely on Prius rims now.
Just bought my second Prius. Drove a 2010 for three years and loved it but went a different direction for three years. Bought the first 2016 in my area. and love it. Seems a little quicker than the 10 and rides a little better. Got out of a crew cab Ford pickup getting 16 mpg in town. Big change. JWB
Does the Prius THREE base, the next one above the eco TWO have a spare tire and 195x65x15 tires on its wheels as standard equipement??
