It works but doesn't have enough authority. So fuel enrichment is used to augment the exhaust cooling effect. When I first observed the EGR peak using miniVCI, I was using just MAF for fuel consumption. But recent test with my new HEM mini OBD included injector timing and volume revealed the fuel enrichment that would otherwise be invisible. Better instrument and better technique, I'm learning new things. Bob Wilson
what temperature weather you been driving mostly in? cold out here in NC. I noticed the read out gave 55 degree
New display seems more photographable. Usually I get rips of missing bits due to the slow refresh on the Gen 3, unless I take a longer exposure at night. Looking forward to seeing a Gen 4 with something like this on the 150 mpg scale.
Love my 2 day old 2016 Sea Glass Pearl Prius cost $ 29, 173 plus $ 3,000 to finance ,and about $ 5,000 for 10 year warrant all service and repairs covered . I know it;s a lot but it is my only 1 st. car of the year I've ever owned and probably my last ... I'am 72 yrs. old I figure it'll take me to my grave
You are a pioneer so older advice may not apply: For now, drive it like your last car and establish your baseline performance (easy with the trip log.) At least get used to the car, the newness. Then take one aspect at a time, change one variable, and see what happens in the trip log for the same route: avoiding accelerating up a hill by using large vans and trucks as pacing vehicles limiting top speed to 70 mph max driving on cruise control stealthy following (NOT TAILGATING!!) find the slowest traffic and 'get stuck behind them' The 2016 has new control laws that appear to address many of the problems with warm-up and operation in the past. You are a pioneer so treat it as an experiment . . . and let us know what you find. Bob Wilson
I received an email form Modern Toyota in NC, They are getting the 2016 Prius in today. That is an hour for where we live. I don't plan to test drive one though, just giving information.
