Featured 2016 PRIUS ... I love it

I can't understand why these vehicles are inside of an airplane and all wet being show room cars.
Toyota is expending mega money in transport fees, ultimately builded up on the final consumer price.

 

Maybe it rained there. A chamois and a little time, they will look great again. The silver car is the less expensive, the gray car more expensive. I'll bet those fog lamps could be dealer installed.

Wow, 747 service from Japan to Europe has got to be costly. But its big T they can afford it.

Silver car's wheel appears shaped to take on a plastic wheelcover.
Gray car has the 17" wheels.

See Bisco, still a 2nd rear window / split rear window.

 

Now imagine perforated vinyl overlay (like on the back pickup windows) on the rear door fixed windows, matched to body color. It could even be wrapped over the window frame if desired.



I don't know which I'd like more, but the best thing about vinyl overlay is that if you don't like it, you just peel it off.

If I ever got one, I'd probably just play with some contact paper to get a rough idea of how far I'd want to take it, before investing in the paint and 3M film.

 

I don't think the much talked about Black section behind side windows is painted body but a Black plastic insert:
I'll wager there is a seam on the bottom and top of black section. Maybe this design makes it easier to replace a quarter panel (rear fender area damage).

If there is body damage over rear wheel, wonder how they replace it on current Prius or any car FWIW.

 

In actual fact a seam seems to appear in the following shot also, i think you're right (hopefully, it will be a LOT easier and cheaper to respray):

There'll be lots of cracked tail lights, it's way too low in the rear corners, where people bump the most

 

I can't say that I like it. It really loses that classic Prius look and the rear end design is gawd-awful. The tow tone seats are also hideous. I'l stick with my 2012 until some real improvements are made. I can't help to notice to that some of the design cues are straight out of Saturns design book, one of the most hideous cars ever made. I can't exactly place what car has that same rear, maybe its the former Ford Probe. Toyota ... FAIL

 

Actually, the Saturn looks way better with cleaner design lines and far better sight lines.
Not that I'd want to swap, The Prius is better in just about every other respect.

People saying this looks like a Saturn or a Probe (or even a Mirai) makes me think legalizing marijuana was a bad idea.

Agreed on the Saturn and Probe. Though I see some Mirai in the side view. And, No, I haven't had any marijuana, legal or illegal. I would have been fired on the spot.

 

Just the cutout on the top of the rear quarter panel. The overall shape is pretty different, the front "Mirai Mau" is missing entirely, and the Prius lacks the Mirai sculpting on the door and lower rear quarter panel.

 

me thinks it has some cues from the dodge dart as well
