I don't know why Jason F hasn't pulled the trigger on a new Prius. Those prices are about as good as it gets right now. Unless Toyota sweetens the incentive deals. My 2017 Prius 2 was $23,000 without rebate $22,000 with rebate plus a $150 doc fee and TTL. I did the Toyota 0.9% financing. It included the all season floor mats. The entire process was negotiated over the phone and I was in and out of the dealership in an hour. The lowest I was quoted for a 2016 Prius 3 Touring was $23,669 after the $2000 rebate. There was a $400 BS accessory that killed that deal in addition to that price.

I have no regrets about my Prius. Almost got the mileage up to 50 MPG overall. Stuck at 49.4 MPG on my second tank of gas.

Yes if the oil inventories tighten Prii will become more desirable worldwide. Then it will be harder to find the car you want at your price level. However, time generally brings the car prices down on a model year. It's usually like 20-30% the first year then 15% for each of the next 3 years. If in a year gas is $3.50 then I'd expect the same price level or higher on a 2016 prius compared to today's price.

An educated guess would be the oil markets tightening in about a year.

    I monitor Prius prices here

We finally pulled the trigger. We're in Southern California. I only had a handful of dealers to choose from but only one had the exterior color I wanted. 2016s are slim pickins.

Congrats. Curious why you went with a 2016 reg Prius when 2017 prime could be had for around same price after tax incentives, and they are readily available in So Cal where you're at.

Very good question. We have 4 kids...and I know that the Prius Prime is only a 4-seater. We already have an Odyssey which we use a lot of time when all 6 of us are together. So for our car, having a 5-seater makes more sense for us. So if I'm driving, I can have all 4 in my car...while my wife could be at work or somewhere else, vice versa.

Thank you....my wife is thrilled. She works in LA, which is about 100 miles round trip from where we live....thrilled does not even begin to describe the kind of savings we'd have with paying for gas!!! :)

So for Northern California Toyota dealerships they are now offering $2500 cash back rebate on 2016 Prius'.

What is the chance I can now get one for $19k OTD after the cash back rebate???

I looked around and the best I could do was 3k off -- black/black 4 touring back in October .. MSRP of $31,341.00. I went with my normal dealer (they had to trade for it) -- they give me free loaners and oil changes. Took Toyota financing for the whole thing - 0% 6 years.

It was cheaper vs the 2011 five bought in Jan 2012

I just bought a New Blizzard Pearl White 2016 Prius 4 Touring in the LA area for 24k. OTD $26.8 with the high CA taxes and fees and 2.25% on my financing. The car came with center console and shifter black applique and all weather floor mats and cargo. There was a $3500 rebate in there.

I decided on a pretty low starting price (under invoice) and then spent a day emailing 5 dealers and having them bid against each other. A couple of the dealers stopped replying but they all got very close and one hit my number.

I had test driven a USED Touring 3 with 10k miles on it and the dealer wouldn't budge from a price of 23.3k before ttl so I walked away. Their loss.

I think now seems like the time to strike on a leftover new 2016. Good luck.

looks like a great price, but since we haven't heard from kenji in a long time, i don't know how updated 'always updated' really is.
