The HUD doesn't show indicators on North American models either (I don't think the Toyota ones ever did. Maybe on other manufacturers' vehicles).
hmm... I have the Prius 2016 Advanced Technology Package. It does show on my HUD when it is time to turn. Not sure if it is because of the model difference but i would think if you have HUD and navigation, Toyota would include it.
You're talking about turn-by-turn guidance. He's talking about the indicators (turn signals in American terminology)... you know, the green arrows that blink on your dashboard.
Nope, sorry if I was unclear, I did mean the turn-by-turn guidance from the sat nav. As in, the instructions from the sat nav to turn left at the next junction or whatever.
Oh ok. You're in the UK, you said indicators, I assumed turn signals lol. Ok then, we're all settled. Ignore what I said
Thank you. So the turn by turn directions do not seem to be available in the UK, which is really odd. Did you have to do anything to enable them? I don't think I'm missing anything obvious, but I'd like to double check!
No, we (UK) had them on the early Gen 3, whereas the US didn't (IIRC), now US has them and we don't. It's down to the Touch and Go Nav system we have (Panasonic I think), incorporated since around 2012 in most Toyota UK vehicles. I found them most useful on roundabouts to show which exit to leave.
Prius fourth generation in Europe don't show turn by turn indicators on HUD. kithmo is right, it depends on the Touch&Go software, but IIRC it's from Harmann.
I cannot agree with those that say the center display is a bad idea. I'm loving mine. I've had a lot of cars and getting the steering wheel and my seat positioned so none of the straight ahead instruments are blocked from my vision has always been a problem. With the center display everything is crystal clear and I can have my seat and steering wheel where they are most comfortable. And the center display is higher so I don't have to take my gaze as far from what's on the road in front of me. I know many will disagree, but I think the center display is a great idea and I for one am glad Toyo has stuck with it.
