For those of you in the Bay Area, PM me for a crazy deal that my local dealer (that I didn't end up buying from) is now offering.. There apparently is a $500 loyalty rebate that started on 8/20 and ends at the end of the month in addition to the steep discount they are offering off invoice. Kinda wish I waited now haha!

SuperGLS: I've enjoyed reading the saga of your purchase. I'm in Northern VA. I tried to get the CarMax Toyota outfit in Laurel to get a particular car for me, without success. But I have friends in the area who buy their cars in or around Baltimore and get demonstrably better prices. I was looking for a Silver P-5 with the advanced technology package. I ended up at Bill Page with a bill of ~$31,500 before the state tax and all that paperwork BS. I probably could have done a few hundred dollars better if I'd kicked and screamed or gone to another local dealer, but like your wife I finally said the heck with it. Turns out they found the car in Rockville at a dealer up the street from my office! Anyway, I'd had it a couple of months now and I'm quite happy with it. First car I ever bought new!

Sorry its South Carolina. Didnt realize i typed Socal.

$28,435+$65 regional ad fee+$810 destination +$782 for options. $500 more than What i wanted but.......hey they got to make money too.

Check your PM. It was a pretty good experience. Sales consultant was Very Knowledgeable and helping Person. I actually told him to hold the Prius as soon as the they get the delivery truck because i don't like the stupid dealer options they add and inflate the price. The only thing i told him is to add tint and carpet. If you are in the market go ahead and call dealership and talk to him. Let me know how it went.....

Thanks......but I'm in the real SoCal :) as in Southern California.....

To be clear, you paid less than 25k out the door? If so, you got a fantastic deal.

I'm confused. The price breakdown you list totals $31500+. You are saying they gave you nearly $7000 off that price?

MSRP of $30,092 doesn't sound like no option. 24871 is doable. I got OTD 24800 for a lease. throw in cash rebate and you get 23800 for purchase.

Yes, I'm no good at math. Apologies. Still, you got $5200 off. Seems pretty excellent.

eliotb, I'm glad you liked my story, hah. Dealers in this area have a LOT of competition, and they all seem to be happy bringing the price down a bit, but none want to go the extra mile as it were. I think I did the best I could and to be honest, after a week of emailing/calling/visiting dealers it was enough (in addition to the 16 months I've been really wanting a new car when my 2002 Elantra passed the 10 year mark.)

Break the price down. Is that OTD price? My initial plan was to buy 3 but settled for 4 later. $21,500 is very possible before TTL.

carpet mat is one of the manufacture option... lease has less rebate than purchase/finance, so you will get better price than lease if you plan to buy/finance

Looking for some advice on a Prius 3 w/ Solar Moonroof package in NorCal.

Phoned ~5-6 dealers, and the range before TTL would be 25k-26k (this is with the 1k rebate included). TTL adds an extra ~2-2.5k.

So out the door would be 27-28.5K. (or 28-29.5k with 0% financing)

Seems a bit high to me. Any thoughts?

Have you tried carwoo? One of the bids I received was below 25k and one was 25.5k, for a 3 with solar roof. This was in SoCal area.

got my TWO prius in seaglass pearl with leather bisque interior at lewisville toyota here in Texas. i think i couldve gotten a better deal instead of the $25K i paid for before TTL ..but he got me 0% financing when another dealer was gonna give me 11% ! gave me also 10K for my trade in(i was ok with 9K) and got my monthly at a sweet amount. that was the bottom line for me.

I've been getting quotes closer to 25K even for blizzard pearl down here in SoCal. So for a standard color you should be just below 25k. You should be closer to 27.5 after TTL. How did you come up with 29.5 with the 0%?

I'm in the same boat as you and I think I will purchase one this weekend.
