I'm glad they figured it out for you.
It's very sad the other places didn't check well enough to find this issue.
They should have! Obviously they didn't check everything as they said!
If you have the wheel bearing replaced at some point, whoever did it likely removed
the control arm and had to remove the nut for the ball joint. Though it is not neccesary to do so.

You should be back to each place and demand your money back because they failed
to do what you paid them to do. And/or get a lawyer and sue them because they put you
in a potensially dangerous position, and other on the road also.

    +1.

I didn't have "The dealer figured it out for $215" on my BINGO card - but you stuck with it and figured it out!

    Good Luck!!!!

Yep that can happen on any of my vehicles because I am the only human being that touches the front end of the car except for the guy who mounts my tires and who does my alignment but he wouldn't be replacing any castle head nuts that would already be done by me and the castle had nut is supposed to have a cotter pin through it the reason for the castle head so that it can't be loose and that's that so this thing was put on without a cotter pin or was put on loose somebody forgot to tighten it and put the cotter pin on it Great stuff Just one reason why my cars don't go out to be worked on pretty much ever I don't know what I'm going to do when I get about 80 hopefully I'll have everything done until the inevitable but there you go Good show Just can't happen here but that would have been something I would have been looking at very quickly all of that front end stuff and just takes a 17 mm and a 14 mm and a 19 mm wrench by your side to just quickly check all those silly little things like that for looseness One wouldn't normally check a castle head nut especially if it has a cotter pin through it but I'm guessing they didn't put the cotter pin in they didn't even get to tightening it so yeah very good man good show
