It all depends on the market and being patient in finding that one dealer who would give you the lowest price. Ever use truecar.com? Gives u the avg local prices and invoice info. Well I've found thru my recent research that I've been able to get slightly lower prices than what truecar is reporting.

$3k is great, but perhaps you can search for a price match or someone willing to undercut. Contact Internet sales teams though. They tend to go straight to the point without the BS with floor sales. Plus it's more convenient for u.

I forgot to add that date and time is key as well. Sometime dealers are looking to make a push in sales numbers and not necessarily capitalize on profit. I contacted a salesman on a Sunday afternoon while it was dead and gloomy weather. He was trying to make his weekend push and offered me $3k off msrp right off the bat for a Prius C.

Wait for 2015 model if you can. Big changes coming most importantly, 60 mpg.

With 60 mpg, new design, hopefully big improvements in seats, safety features and electronics all good stuff to wait for, we'll likely see a drop in the sale price of used 2010's.

Especially true if you keep your car more than three years. Wait for the big update model.

Love my 2013 that I just bought recently but would be willing to upgrade if the newer model coming out in the future has better Siri integration.

Typically Toyota does cosmetic changes... tail lights, wheels, paint colors, interior colors, bumpers etc. Electronics, improve the Entune system, Siri integration, HID headlights standard, lane change camera? Mechanically, who knows, but the newest Camry Hybrid gets 43 mpg with a 2.5 liter engine and the current Prius is kind of underpowered compared to its closest rival, the Ford C-Max, so maybe a 2 liter engine? Lithium batteries to reduce weight and increase EV range? Or will Toyota save those for the 4th generation. We won't know until the 2014 is announced.

Would you suggest the Camry Hybrid over the Prius?

I seriously doubt Toyota will do any of that (except for siri function/entune refresh/headlight tweak) as a 2nd refresh.
Depends. They're different vehicles with different advantages. I personally would get a Prius for higher mpg and a more youthful hatchback form.

The GenII only got one refresh. 2004-2005 then a mild refresh for 2006-2009. I'm not sure why you assume the GenIII will get 2 refreshes. :)

I was thinking the same thing. But wasn't 100% sure if gen II had one or two refreshes.

So they're now at $5150 under sticker.

Harold, a word of advice. You might get more meaningful responses if you just came right out with the price of the car and finance terms. If you don't want the information public, you could always PM those who've already replied on this thread.

So after shopping a while, wife and I decided we'd prefer the v, Package Five. Not as much discount on the v somehow, dealer says 12% off sticker is bottom line

Now the question is get the 2013 or wait for the 2014. I'm not in any real rush, and since we're in June tmw, leaning towards waiting, but really not sure??

Have not heard of any date for the 2014 release, and dealers will say that 2014 will be here much later because they want to sell what they have right now.

Yes, dealers tell me anywhere from September to December.

Not with any real reason or based on any information, my hunch is September.

Right, usually 3rd week of September/October unless dealers have a lot of cars of the current year. Toyota (Build Out Final Order Start Up Dates)

Yes, but a dealer would have to take your order.
