Wow! The big news in 2011, was the center console will hold 23 CDs! And now, they are removing the CD players from new cars.

 

Our new 2017 doesn't even have AM radio - but many AM stations do web transmits - so my better ½ still gets her preferred talk station.

i haven't listened to am since all the sports stations moved. been a few years anyway. or a cd.

 

Does your tv still take about a ½ minute or more to warm up?

and maybe a crackley static sound when turning it off? .... followed by a little white dot that takes a minute or more - until it, & all those warm vacume tubes finally cool? Channel changing 'knob' that has 13 spots + one for UHF, & changing between stations, the knob makes a ka-Chunk, ka-Chunk, ka-Chunk sound .... those were the days ... going to the 5 & dime w/a handful of tubes to use their tube tester.
There's a whole generation that doesn't have a clue about any of those dynamics.

life has changed far more in the past 20 years than in the rest of my lifetime. but television was invented before i was born, believe it or not. b&W, color came along when i was a kid.

i still remember people walking around with a portable phone on top of a box the size of a car battery. hey, it wasn't that long ago.
