That's very strange. Toyota long life coolant is good for 100K miles or 10 years; but when you change it - it's only good for 5 years or 50K miles?? :(:censored::cry:

Not that strange; IIRC Honda had sim schedule. Maybe the logic is that a brand new engine and coolant system will be very clean. After the first drain you’ve still got 20~30% of the old coolant left behind, and corrosion is starting to get a foothold, warranting more frequent subsequent changes.

One of the differences between the regular prius and plugins is the %% EV to HV driven. Adjust accord ingly.

Most DIYers like to get started early in the schedule so it's not as critical to get the complete process for any one service fully correct the first time. If everything proceeds without a hitch no harm no foul, but it there are unresolved issues it never hurts to do it again sooner than later and try harder to get the process as close to perfect as possible.

When having the work done by a shop, it's extremely difficult to know much of anything about the actual work that has been done or why each shop has it's own set of procedures they follow and or recommend

Wow, I just got fluids for coolant, inverter, transmission, and engine all done with Amsoil stuff for 533. I thought was a little high but with amsoil it's what I would expect to pay at a shop anyways.
