That doesn't explain the 2012s and later in this thread, mine and numerous others.
    I sure don't.

You’re right, the comment about 2010-2011 models doesn’t explain the many experiences here with subsequent models…
Reading about all of you here helps me feel like I’m not the only one, but it’s so frustrating to hear about everyone’s struggles trying to get Toyota to pay for this - in the US and Canada and elsewhere!

I was happy to hear that there was a recall in the US for this but now saddened that you haven’t heard of it and I can’t find evidence anywhere - anyone here heard of a class action lawsuit leading to a recall?

It isn't a safety issue, so there won't be a true recall. Any fix would happen at a lower level.

Yeah I couldn't find it in the nhtsa recall list for 2010 prius - I guess we're all just on our own with dealers and Toyota Canada or usa or Europe... Anyone have good advice? I also really want to get a car wash but I'm worried about the hard spray of water from above! Advice?
    Thanks everyone!

Ok well I got the car wash and just had them not turn on the spray from above
We've had some more heavy rain and hail here and o don't think it's gotten worse (the rubber) but it's already pretty bad! Thankfully it hasn't leaked and I don't think anyone else here has had a leak right?

My Toyota dealer service centre guy here in Vancouver says I definitely won't get anywhere with Toyota Canada so I should try calling Toyota usa to convince them to pay for it... Who has had good/any success with Toyota usa on this issue? I might go back through all the posts to check but feel free to send me tips in this thread!
Mike is a 2010 so 12 years old but this only stated recently - tech here at the dealer said he's never seen it so I was reassured to see everyone's pictures here!

I'm having the same problem with my 2013 Prius and waters leaking in to the car bad. I had it checked out with a glass company and there saying the Front Sunroof Glass part number 63201-47010 needs to be replaced
Any way to get Toyota to fix it ?
    Official recall ?

Mine leaked only briefly, when the drain channels were plugged by dirt and tree debris. Once I found and cleaned them, it quit leaking.
It isn't a safety issue, so not a chance. Your best hope is a TSB, Technical Service Bulletin.

Yeah after I posted here I came across that there's a sunroof drain issue looks like there's a pretty good chance that might be the problem ?
How did you unclog them anything specific to the Prius ?

Looking closely last year, I found some tiny slots, fore and aft, along the left and right edges, that appeared to be drain paths. I cleared them out with some pointy object, possibly an old dental pick or awl from my mechanical toolbox. I'm not totally sure these were intentional drain paths, but haven't had a leak since. Sorry, no pictures at this time for illustration.

A previous car had nipples at the front bottom corners of the pan around the sunroof, draining into plastic tubes running down inside the A pillars and down to the bottom. I once had to run a wire through the clogged nipples and into the tube. (And when the tubes shrunk with age and pulled off the nipples, reattached them with hose clamps). But I haven't noticed anything similar on this Prius.

I didn't discover it in time to see the drips or their path, just found a wet passenger side floor mat after a heavy rain while it was parked outside. My heavy rain was nowhere near as strong as your garden hose.

This car is parked inside most of the time, but does get some occasional outdoor rain and snow.

    Thanks for the reply

Can you please explain the process on how you did it ?

I was told by an auto window company that the whole front of the sunroof below links part needs to be replaced because the gasket or rubber seal are all one piece ?

Doesn't even matter when the thread is roughly ½ decade old?

I simply removed the old gasket, cleaned off all the adhesive with rubbing alcohol, measured out the gasket and applied it. Took all of 5-10 minutes. Make sure your drain tubes are clear as well. My Prius is new to me so I didn't care how old this thread was. I was happy to find it. Good luck
