Ah ok. In which case I'd suggest you look at what other features are included in the T-Spirit package. The nav also has a hard disk for music which is a nice feature.

What is the price differential between the T4 and T-Spirit?

I have a GenII T-Spirit (previous model) and the nav is virtually identical. I use a TomTom in preference even though I have the fitted nav as it's so much better.

    It's about a £2k difference between the T4 and the T-Spirit...

Well, I took the car back to the dealer... they checked it for damage then gave me the keys to my car and waved bye bye.

I said "Urm... don't you want to try to sell me it?". He claims that as Tim wasnt in (the guy I was originally dealing with), it wasnt his sale to make.
I was taken back by this and said I wanted to go through the figures etc and part ex my car too.

He told me to sit down and he went off. After several minutes he came back with some excuse about how he COULD go through things with me now, but the brokers who buy cars may not be open on Sunday blah blah - so we're now going away to await a call from Tim tomorrow.

Kinda felt like they didnt want my custom, to be honest!

Time and again this has been the biggest failing of dealers.

If they can afford to turn away business like that then I'd walk away and take your business to another Toyota dealer.

Would be nice if the features you had in Europe was available here in Canada. Granted, I have an older ONE New Edition instead of the newer models with IQ Routes or Lane Guidance. I can't run app v8.x.

Drifting OT but I take it you don't yet have the LIVE connected devices with HD Traffic, fuel prices etc?

Lane Guidance is so so but IQ Routes does work very well.

One of the perks of the job is a desk full of SatNav devices so I use a ProClip in the Prius with a 'MOVE' clip that allows me to attach any device in seconds.

Current favourite is the TomTom 940 PND, iPhone is Navigon, a truly lovely nav app and on Android Sygic are the leader although Navigon are coming soon to the platform.

Toyota's satnav is one of the better ones I've had/tested but still not a patch on a good PND.

Nope. It's Canada we're talking about. We're probably the only 1st world country that is scared of high tech stuff. Anything new and fancy costs a LOT here (granted, we're also one of the 1st world country with a population that's sparse in between the major centres and >80-90% live within 100km of the US border).

We do get MapShare. No traffic option via TT Traffic even though it was available (when I had my free-trial 3 years ago). Even then, only Google Maps Traffic has the best coverage (just started this summer). Before hand, traffic information was only available in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal. I do believe some TT users have managed to get traffic info in Toronto with an RDS-TMC receiver. Is there an RDS-TMC receiver for the ONE New Edition? If so, that'll give renewed life to my TT. It's been on the shelf since I bought the Prius.

    Edited:

It's only available on the ONE 3rd Ed and higher (grr) and only covers Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal.

There is an RDS-TMC receiver that plugs into the mini-USB (power then plugs into the receiver dongle) but whether it is supported by your device I couldn't say.

The receivers are region specific I guess you'd need the NA version. Not too expensive though. [ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/TomTom-9V00-101-RDS-TMC-Traffic-Receiver/dp/B0019JDDB4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1259655554&sr=8-1"]Here[/ame] is a photo of it on Amazon UK.

It's sold only in USD here so the price depends on the exchange rate for me. IT's US$100.

Well tomtom.com said it isn't compatible with ONE 2nd Edition because it's not listed (it lists ONE 3rd Edition)
