I did not read your post as being offensive. It was a good point, but it sounds like the ATP would end up working against the drunk and for the innocent drivers.

To clarify my point, if every car had those features then all accidents could be less serious. Even the pre-tighthening of the seat belts (if everyone bothered to wear them) or a few mph reduction in speed at impact could be enough to save an innocent life. Whatever the other car is, I at least know that my car will try to take those steps if a drunk driver heads toward me and thus increase my chances of surviving.

And if the technology happens to keep a drunk safe too, I'm fine with that.
