2010 Prius Models and Option Packages

What is the MSRP for Prius III (mode 1225)? I was quoted $23,950 + $750 destination charges.

I was told that if you put a deposit then the add-ons may not forced upon by the dealer. Otherwise it is likely that the dealership will start to add some of these. Is this true?

I am a newbie and seeking help in order one in the next couple of days.

 

As Paradox points out, this is $950 above MSRP for the bare car, so find out what options are included.

Also, search for the posting of 'winebuff', who is expected to take delivery of her new Prius in Portland early this afternoon. She is finding that none of the dealers she is in contact with in Oregon or southwest Washington is demanding higher than Toyota MSRP.

To each their own, that is why different colors are offered. I have a Blizzard Pearl HH. It was the only color I liked. My Prius will be Blizzard Pearl also although I like the Red color as well. The Blue is a little darker than I wanted although I've seen camaries in it that I like. In the sun it seems lighter and bright, but all other times it's just too dark for me.

I think I just noticed something. The 2010 Prius IV / 1229, solar panel option (ie; NOT lane/collision/park assist, LED's) is the ONLY way you can get remote AC? Is that for real? If so, anyone want to guess WHY? I mean the 59watt panel has NOTHING to do with the solar venting, so wouldn't it make sense to offer it up on other models ... if not at least the highest tech package ??

It took me five minutes of PC search. Good news & bad news. It's NOT standard (for crying outloud) but you can add it on for $529 msrp. Gawd.

I have a question about the roof on a 2010. Did they beef up the roof ? I read where the roof on an older Prius tends to give a little when you add a sunroof, because of the weight and design. Now they can put a solar panel and moon roof on the 2010 and it's fine. Was there a change in the design of the roof?

 

No ... I'm not ... but the fine print does say the VIP system work on the 2010 (only) prius ... as well as several other Toyotas.

 

The options that are on this quote is the standard Prius III - 1225 stuff: Prius II equipment, plus JBL® AM/FM/6-CD changer with Bluetooth® hands free capability, integrated XM Satellite radio, and eight speakers.

So my question is does the Toyota MSRP not include the above?

Has anyone been able to knock out the destination charges? Any tips/ideas welcome.

 

MSRP for Prius III is $23,000, plus $750 destination charge. So there's either $950 worth of extra stuff (could be port added items like mats, etc., or could be BS items like "lifetime" paint protection), or a $950 dealer mark up, or a combination of both.

VPG, I would call the dealer and ask if they meant doc fee and not destination charges. The MSRP with floor mats (the standard build) INCLUDING destination is $23,950. They may have read their build book wrong also. In years past, you had to add the destination to the price quoted in the book. NOW, they don't include it on the base vehicle, but do when the vehicle is listed with options. Example:

1225 III 23,000
1225 FE EJ 23,750

I know EJ (JBL radio) comes standard on the III, but they add it like it is an option. The dealer may just be confused.

 

The difference is not doc fee, because state law limits that to $50 now, possibly rising to $150 on July 1.

Just saw an add for 1500.00 cash back on a 2009... never noticed that before...... different market now!

 

The wait that I thought was over, continues!
The Costco discount price will not be available until later this month.
I thought that the III included the sun roof, but I was wrong and 1 dealer told me that it would be $1,600 more.
He also told me that the tax rebate is not available for Toyota because they exceeded the # of hybrids allowable for the program offered by the Obama Administration.
He said the cars being sent are base vehicles and the option packages will be another 60 - 90 days out!

 

The Solar Roof Package is available with the Prius III & IV per 2010 Prius Brochure and Toyota pricing info they distributed nationally. Local dealers I have contacted in the central valley of California will be receiving loaded IV & Vs with a few IIIs sprinkled in!
