Re: Replace 2010 pkg. II, III or IV w/ LED headlights?

Thanks, Paradox. I saw the headlights photos thread before posting but the search must be malfunctioning because I specifically searched for LED in titles without finding this thread:

    http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii-2010-prius-main-forum/58170-2010-prius-led-headlight-swap.html

Your answers were very clear and informative, so thanks for that, too!

Perhaps the mods can merge this thread into that for the sake of keeping the forum uncluttered?

HID's don't live long if flashed. I know because I've used them as recognition lights on an aircraft we manufacture. Flashing them at 120 per min. they lasted 300 hours. I have since then switched to LED's with an expected life span of 50,000 hours. These people are manufacturing me a LED light for an aircraft recognition light. Aeroleds > Home
HID's are bright, expensive, draw a lot of power and generate a lot of heat compared to LED's. LED's are the future in my opinion, not HID's

Agreed: Halogen < HID < LED

However, if you have a Prius II through IV a proper LED conversion can be pricey and a good set of HIDs can be done for less.
