You are 11,500 miles from the warranty end. I hope this is not a common problem. I plan on putting over 300,000 miles on my Prius. I put over 305,000 on my Toyota 4Runner and nothing broke until 170,000 miles. It was a starter I replaced myself.

I would never buy an extended warranty.

I've put another 700 miles since the incident, and the car's running smoothly. I'm going to keep it and see how many miles this car can take.

I've always declined extended warranties on everything from consumer electronics to cars, so I understand the feeling. But since my wife was adamant about it, we went ahead with it. Hope you hit that 300K mark without problems. I'll continue to report problems as they come up.

The hybrid system is warranty for 10 years or 150k miles in California or any "Carb State" and the Inverter is part of the hybrid system.

But parts of the inverter are not part of the drive train: DC converter (the P0A94 above), A/C inverter. The inverter cooling pump is also a 5 year/60,000 mile warranty item, not a CARB warranty item. I think the answer is that it just depends.

The inverter is covered under the hybrid warranty. I have read my manual.
