Thank you all for your input on the accident status. I know it's probably wise to walk away, but I'm having trouble giving up this particular Prius… why must it be exactly what I want?! Anyway, thank you again for all the advice
A couple of other things to look for regardless of the particular Prius you are looking at: 1. Does it track straight reasonably well on the highway? If it doesn't, don't assume it can be fixed with wheel alignment. 2. Does the dash or anything else in the car rattle? Some Prii have been known to rattle. Search this site for "dash rattle". Good Luck!
The mileage is nothing. I have a 2011 that I bought new and it has 44,000 miles on it. It looks like new and runs like new. I plan to just change the oil and filter, cabin and engine air filters and nothing else until 100,000 miles. I recently called Toyota about the transmission fluid and they said it never needs changing. Spark plugs will not need changing until over 100,000 miles. If I were you I would get a car fax on it. If it has been wrecked I would not buy it. If the car fax is clean I would take it to Toyota and let the service department make an valuation and if they say everything is okay I would buy it. Just my opinion. Sorry, I see I posted a reply earlier. I now see that it was involved in an accident. I would not buy this one.
