A cousin of a friend of mine met a guy in a bar who had an experience similar to the OP. This guy is an expert driver, including 45 years driving hybrids, so he really knows his stuff. He pressed the brake pedal and the Prius was flung into space, exceeded the Earth's escape velocity, and ended up plunging into the sun. Needless to say, he was aghast at the dangerous design of the Prius brakes. Can someone here help this guy?
Can you give us some more information> How darkly were his windows tinted? Did he crash into the Sun during the day when it's hot or at night when it's cooled off?
He is almost certainly lying. Under those circumstances, escaping the solar system is comparatively easily, but plunging into the Sun requires far higher speed, accurate speed control, and precision targeting. Without aiming, his odds of hitting the sun are worse than winning a Lotto jackpot on a single ticket.
I'm far more willing to give credence to a first-person report rather than someone who "knows someone" giving a second-hand account in a "drive-by" posting. Stick around, provide information, details about what happened or how it happened. Facts give a story credibility. Hearsay does not. That said, I'm open to the idea that there may have been a failure. That's what the "Thanks" button is for
So whatever happened to the OP??? I am assuming that he and is "Friend" went back to the (insert name of a car company here) dealership, and are living an drab existance patting themselves on the back for achieving about 12 sec of fame.
