A very good price for the II. $611 less than I paid in August for a Blizzard Pearl Prius II with mats. So it's good to know there are still really good deals out there if you do a bit of work. Enjoy your new Prius!
I just ran a price check on USAA for my Prius configuration (Blizzard Pearl III w/Nav) and found Toyota of Newan with an offer of $21,746! That's $3700 below Invoice! This is a better price than I got through USAA back at the end of July, so prices are finally starting to fall again on the 2010s!
Finalized an offer on 11/20/2010. Will hopefully take delivery within the next few days. Financing Sale Price: $23,207 (dealer matched offer of another shop) Follow-up: 11/25/10 The dealer made either a mathmatical or administrative error in my favor! They started with $22,207 instead of $23,207. The rebate was deducted from $22,207. So in essence I got an extra 1K off the price, and able to save $25 on the monthly. Trade-in: $1,100 ('99 Cabrio "New" 131k Miles, fair condition. I'm happy fair price) Tax: $2,100 (9.5%) License: $203 Doc. Fee: $100. (can be up to $150) Rebate: $1000 OTD: $23510 Financing: Credit Union @2.99% MSRP: $24,560 (Final offer $1353 under MSRP) Invoice: $23,088 ($119 under invoice) Dealer: Rodland in Everett WA. They matched the best quote I got from Doxon in Auburn WA. Hey Thanks Corvidae! I spent a lot of time researching what car to buy, and what to pay. I Decided on the Prius. If my stats can help someone else with their purchase then my work here is done.
HI From the new guy here. New data point... Last Friday here in Northern CA we bought my wife a new Prius. Think it was an OK deal. Started with truecar, got some quotes, found out I was asking for the wrong configuration, emailed the best dealer, found out the rebate went up to $1000, etc.. Got a Prius IV with Nav and floor mats. MSRP $30040 Paid $26600 Gary
Only 2353.00 below MSRP is not a very good price. Do look at their below invoice number to fool you because they get kick back from Toyota. They are not losing money in selling you this car. 3000.00 to 3500 below MSRP is what is the current offers in CA. I guess Prius cost the same to the dealers at different states so the discount should be the same. Yours is different since you have the trade in. Well, it is o.k. as long as you like your deal. Enjoy. :cheer2:
i've been shopping for the last week.....looking for a prius III blizzard pearl w/ solar & navi.....my best price so far is $500 below invoice...... $25758 plus tax & fees msrp $ 28610 that's $2850 below msrp......would like some reader feedback.....:cheer2::cheer2:
wow really? I'm looking at the Prius IV with no packages, so i'd imagine I could get it down to aroud $24k then here in the bay area? seems like wishful thinking though.
Hi Gary, I'm in the East Bay too. Did you pay $26600 OTD (out the door)? Or is that before Tax, Title and License? I'm hoping for a good deal this weekend on either a II or III. Which dealer did you go through? Looks like Walnut Creek or Antioch have been emailing me the best prices so far. Thanks, James
Hi James, No, $26600 for the car.. $29775 OTD Bought it at Dublin. Sunnyvale was the best email offer after a couple email begs.. Our car actually came from Lodi, guess they couldn't sell it. Dublin has a good selection and were pretty nice except for the usual jerking around over price.. and listening to the pre-paid maintenance and extended warantee rip offs pitches.. Gary
Thanks for the info. I've been to Dublin a couple of times and feel the pressure they like to give after the first "hand off" but walked out twice when looking at used models. They always have a million sales guys stalking each car that drives in there plus a ton of inventory, and they still had to get a car from Lodi? We'll see if Dublin's willing to match another offer since they won't give it without some haggling. Other dealers are willing to offer really good prices via email. I talked to Sunnyvale too and felt like they weren't willing to budge on anything.
Yes, they come running! They already had the car in inventory, they are high volume so they should be dealing. Sunnyvale came through with a good email offer. I wanted the car so I rounded it down $62 and told them that is what I wanted to pay. Starting walking out two or three times but they did it. So start you offer below mine ;-) They still have lots to move before the 11's come in. Gary
I contacted Steve after reading his post. He provided me with the dealer and agent name... I contacted them and they honored their price. Last night I drove off the lot with a winter gray Prius II with mats for 20,500 plus TT&L. Thanks Steve for the help. If anyone else in the Bay Area is looking for the same setup, please contact me and I will 'pay it forward'. Cheers! Gareth
Used Prius V Navigation, mats and 1,250 miles. Wanted the Blizzard white yet felt I could not turn the gold color and light interior deal down. Dealer started bidding for me at 19,900, bidding was slow. At times bedding was fast amd slowed down in the early 20's. The bid of 24,000 took it. Manheim's $275, TTL in Texas made it out the door for $26,500. I still have to go purchase another key and a manual. So much look forward to her! Good luck on yours and Happy Thanksgivings Michael
picked up my prius III last night blizzard pearl solar/nav purchased from Longo Toyota .....$750 below invoice, msrp was $28988.....total otd was $28,962.... it's build date was 10/10 and had 3 miles on the odo......:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
SafetyMom: I am soooo jealous! One dealer up here is trying to sell a III (albeit, at a good price) with an 11/09 build date! Didn't check the odometer, but the seats had visible wear, wrinkles, etc. And no, there weren't selling it as a demo. VIN on their car is: JTDKN3DU5A0091048 Question, don't need the exact number, but could you tell us within what range is the VIN for your 10/10 build date?
Just signed with Ira Toyota in Mass 2010 New Prius 2 Black (Base) $19705 plus $295 docs/dealer $100 tag transfer 6.25% MA sales tax and out the door! No one in the area could beat them and no funny funny business at the dealer. I started with USAA's buying service and went down from there.
Very nice! A dealer in Atlanta GA *appeared* to have agreed to my $19,700 offer for a Blizzard Pearl with mats OTD not including tax or trade-in. He was also an USAA referral. I say *appeared* because the deal was not completed when my old car was saved by the mechanic. By the way, people: Hertz is dumping their '10 Prius around this time. A local used car dealer told me he was willing to buy the car at auction for me and charge a $1000 service fee. He estimated about $17,000 OTD before taxes.
Just bought a garmin nuvi 1350t navigation unit. Free traffic and lane assist for $129 -free shipping and no tax. Bought my IV with mats only. 25k [27.7k msrp] -- What's the navigation package cost ? $1800. At 50 mpg how far can I drive before I pay for factory nav ? I calculate 32000 miles with gas at $2.80 Plus it's worth almost nothing in resale. To each his/her own, but even with the extras it just doesn't make a lot of sense. A big issue for me is that I don't think you can change your settings while driving. Safety issue ? You do get a back-up camera which I never used on my Murano.
