1. I lease because I have a relatively short attention span when it comes to cars. I always want something new. I found when I purchased I was always getting out of the car around the three year point anyway. 2. I'm not interested in owning this car long-term for two reasons: one, it doesn't have a HDD Navigation system. Two, since I'm new to Omaha, I'm uneasy about the winters (and the wx in general) so I didn't want to own a car for the long term knowing it could get beat up by the weather. If I was living in PHX, LAS or SoCal, different story. 3. From the contract: Price: $35747 ($1527 in accessories); Residual: $19,151; Payment: $551.23; Cash-back: $1900. I reiterate: I said I would pay $32,800 for the above car and then lease it for 36 months. I was told it doesn't work like that on a lease (I could negotiate if I was buying); TMCC (Toyota Credit Motor Corp) sets the baseline lease payments with money factors and incentives every month. I was also told Toyota wants to push this car out there as much as possible. I'm just glad I got in one without a 9 month wait...before the next gas crisis, etc. I ran the numbers for the purchase at $32,800 for 60 months. The payment would be $546.67 at 0% APR. So, since I don't want the car for more than three years, the difference in payments is moot. Am I missing something?
I took a similar approach (at a lower level). I am adding Rubbertite mats and Wet Okole seat covers. I am leasing so I will sell those items when I turn the car in too. That way I only pay about about 50% of the cost on those.
I just bought a Prius 2010 III, with navigation for roughly $27k including tax and plates, price of the actual car itself was around $24,950. I hope I got a good deal!
I leased a IV with sticker $32,882. and my payments are $446 for 36 months with only first payment due. I read that some have found 0% for 60 months and I only find 1.9% here in Dallas Texas. I looked at buying but this lease was far more attractive. The one key on my mind is I didn't hear anything about this $1900 cash-back. I'm scratching my head. Checked Toyota Website and find nothing about $1900. Maybe it's a region promotion and not offered by the Gulf States folks who supplies the automobiles in this area. Open to any knowledge as i go sign the paperwork at 3:30 today. Feel they gave me a great deal. I have everything I want on this new auto.
I didn't know if it was a formal Toyota offer nor not. I think the standard lease incentive right now on the Prius is $750. Somehow the dealer/Toyota came up with an additional $1150 to entice me to do the deal now. I still have my BMW lease which has it's last payment on 25 Dec with the car due back 25 Jan. I told them I didn't need two cars right this moment and making two payments per month is silly. Somehow they made it worth my time.
There may be 1900 in dealer cash that is not advertised -- just conjecture. It would explain why certain markets are giving 2k plus discounts.
When I leased last month the cash incentives were for purchases only. The lease deal was equally attractive based on the money factor they were doing. I tried to push for the cash after I made my best lease deal and no way, wasn't going to happen. Don't worry about incentives. If you are working enough dealers against each other (through email first) they will eat into the dealer cash back as needed until it's not worth their time. You will know when you have your best deal. Mine was $1,200 under the next closest and the others wouldn't budge (on a Prius II).
3 days ago I paid $26,750 for my III with solar pkg (and nav). My down payment was my trade (2002 chevy tracker for $2500). Included from the dealer was free $299 tinting, full set of floor mats and 2 years free maintenance. Standard 3 yr / 36k mile bumper to bumper warranty with the standard 10yr / 100k mile powertrain warranty 0% financing for the life of the 60 month loan and no payments for 90 days. I think I got a pretty decent deal... at least compared to the first dealer I went to.
That is what Toyota was offering here in South Florida, 0.0%/60 months. I think the offer ended Sept. 30th. Not sure if they are going to keep it going in Oct. Sorry for the confusion. I paid $200 for the illuminated door sills at the Toyota Parts dept. and got them installed by them for $65.
Wow I wish California had the same incentives. The current ones I know of right now are 0% for 36mos, 1.9% for 48mos, and 2.9% for 60mos. Sigh....lol
Still-Holding-Out-For-A-Better-Deal-Me says (hopes) that with the 2011s on the way and over 17,000 2010s in stock, Toyota's gonna' have to come up with sweeter incentives. Here in New England the current offerings expire Oct. 4th.
Yes the current offers expire oct. 4 as well over here. I'm hoping for the same too. I would like to purchase a model III at the end of the month *crosses fingers for great deals and incentives to come* :-P
I paid invoice less 400 for my new Prius III. It worked out to $26,200 + taxes. The price includes the solar roof package, floor mats and a $40 bumper decal. Taxes were super high, but that's life in San Francisco. I got the 0% financing. The best deal I was offered was invoice minus 800 at another local dealer, which comes to just under 26K. When you add in the cash rebate it's more like $25K. That was by far the best deal, but I would have had to pick a car off the lot. I took the higher price because I was firmly set on a red car w/ dark grey interior, which my dealer had to trade for. Lesson: Obsession has a price. That price is $400 + $40 bumper decal.
I bought mine 9/8/10. I bought a blizzard pearl / misty Prius II. It was porked up with a few dealer and port installs (some I agreed with, some I didn't) that brought the sticker up to almost $25k. My car is a 7/10 build, and it appears that it went through dealer PDI on 8/24/10, so it didn't sit for very long. It had 2 miles on it when I first saw it, and the salesman added 2 more miles when he left to go fill it up. Sticker: $25,000 Dealer discount: $2,000 GST rebate: $1,000 = $22,000 The New Orleans area is not a huge Prius market at all, so this was the best I could do without having to drive 1,000 miles. Some local dealers even had market adjustments added to the sticker. LOL I'm quite happy with my deal and love the car.
hi ppl, have been following this group for sometime now, well got a prius III + solar roof pkg 27,000 + Extended warranty for 3 years 2000 + TTT 1000 ~ 30000 OTD Too bad the Prius IV and V are not available with fabric options, My first car and luvin it so far What do you guys think
Might want to rethink that warranty! You can purchase a 7 year 100K Toyota Platinum Warranty here for $1055.00! The car comes with a 3 year 36K mile warranty, go I'm going to assume you were meaning and additional 3 years (6 year warranty), although you don't mention the mileage. You have three business days to contact the dealership and cancel for a full refund. It might be worth considering, you can buy a lot of cool accessories with the $945.00 you'll save!
Location: SF Bay Area; Dealer: Piercy Toyota, Milpitas, CA Prius II with mats package and no other options. Price paid (before taxes & fees): $21,345 (after $750 rebate) TrueCar lowest quote: $21,574 Did go back & forth over email for a couple of days to get the price. The dealer i bought it from is not in the Truecar network. I used the True car quote as the base and tried to cut it down by $500. Reached half way to the goal, but could go no further.
