Pat, you frightened me for a sec until I saw AU$ You and Canada must share the same worthless currency ;-)
Re: 2010 msrp? Please Give us Base Below $23.5 Dear Toyota Pricing, We your loyal customers are hurting just like Toyota so please keep us loyal with a Reasonable Price for the Base Unit so we can upgrade. Just below $23.5K for MSRP gives dealers a chance to sell a Base Unit $22.5K Before TTL Thanks for Listening Greg
I'd love that price on a 2009. I'd love it more on a 2010. RRP on a 2009 Prius base model here is $37,400AU ($24670US at current exchange rates)
I read somewhere that Toyota is trying to reduce the MSRP as we speak. I also noticed there is no base package yet. I am willing to bet that Toyota is trying to make the base somewhere around $22999. probably a stripped down version. (Any bets) ????
I am on the wait list for the 2010. Dealer keeps calling me on the 2009 - $23,900 USD for a package 6 fully loaded. I want the platinum package but the wifey is asking me if the $6k is worth it (guesstimate on my part) for the "robotic" LKA steering ILO a 2009. "What you forgot how to drive. What a waste of money" - are her thoughts. Yes dear... I think it is good for us that the Hondas and the Ford Fusion comes out before (I hope) than the 2010 Prius pricing. The $15k rebate on the Chevy Volt is looking even more tempting. Myabe Toyota will push the release date of their plug in. What a great time to be wanting to buy a car :focus:
Yes I think that this is likely. But as to 'stripped' even the current pre-release Silver package is somewhat 'stripped' from the 2009 package #2 ( no backup camera and only 1-door SKS ). Thus if they took the JBL/BT/XM option out of the Silver package ( $1000 extra in most Toyota's ) then they could very well reach $22500 - $23000 for a standard trim level. This would be very smart IMO considering what 2009 will be like.
In the stimulus packaage it ended up being a $7500 tax credit on the Volt....if GM even survives. Subject to AMT of course.
Thanks DeadPhish - I did not check the final Bill approved last night. Oh well, I guess I will buy those solar panels for my house instead of the Volt and go with the Prius :cheer2:
How will the Japanese Prius be equipped compared to the US version? Will there will be S and G models only or will there be a 3rd trim level? What about options?
My dealer told me the official shop manual will be available by mid March. I'll try to report the detail info then. Ken@Japan
