I'd actually like a front bench seat that seats 3.

The bridge doesn't really bother me. Actually, my sister is considering buying a new Prius because she LOVEs the storage underneath the bridge! She said that's the perfect location for her to keep her bags or purse! lol

mmm... I can't tell if the console is closed or not because there's a decent gap and it doesn't click.

Ok the LS460's glovebox doesn't click either but you can tell if it's closed or not cause it won't fall open again. A console lid is a little different. Maybe I just need to get used to it.

LOL both my sister and my sister-in-law said that right off the bat as soon as they saw the interior!

Speaking of stereo.. I can hear more sounds in my CD's than I ever could.. much better than the GenII IMO.

I have a jeep cheerekee with 4 Phenonix amps, 2 twelves, 2 eights, 2 6.5's, and 4 5.25"s with 2 4.5"s and tweaters... Although I can vibrate the flesh off your bones with it and still hear all frequencies, the purity of the Prius's speakers and setup is quite impressive.
I tried playing with the settings but default is the best aside from moving some of the sound to the rear.

Thats another thing I noticed.. everything is very precise and smooth.. from opening and closing doors, to glove boxs.. switches..... Doors seem lighter and barely need effort to move them.

Another good use for the underneath console is for storing a nice trash bag that cannot be seen.

this car would destroy my sex life.

On a test drive, I told the dealer I wanted to take a saw and hack out the console protrusion, it bugged me that much.

Now we know the "real" reason!..

    Get a room! :p

Or a pickup truck with a bench seat, then you can retire to the back bed when the going gets rough. ;)

I find the center console very comfortable for my right hand to rest on. Under the bridge provides a good storage for say a tissue box. The heated seats button at the bottom is a little annoying.

I have found that if that button is too convenient, its easy for your passenger to play practical jokes on you by turning on your seat unnoticed in the summer and wait till you figure it out!

The rear seats do fold flat and expand the cargo area.

I suggest you tint -- all around.

You can go camping and use the prius as your tent.. just leave it in ready mode..., fold the back seats down, lock the doors and set the air temp to where you want it.... it will maintain your set temp all night and turn the ICE on as needed to charge the battery.....

Just make sure you don't do it in your garage.....it could be embarrassing for your family when they find you!.... keep good ventilation from exhaust fumes.... oh yea.. the prius doesn't have any! :p

Great write-up on the RX450h btw. Putting it in that context should open up some eyes

Being in the middle of a 5000 mile tour of several western states ... Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas and back to Texas ... I find the console to be a good thing to have on a long drive. Even with cruise control, driving a car without something to rest my leg against means having to get out and work out the kinks more ... not needed as much with this console. My 2010 is much more comfortable on a long drive than my 2008 was.

As to the underneath the console part ... it holds a Kleenex cube perfectly along with charging an iPod and holding a couple of other small things.

My 2010 package V is a great driver and cruises at 80+ very easily. Today, I crossed the entire state of Wyoming at an average speed of 72mph. Would have been faster but for a lot of road construction on I80.

the center console of my 2010 has really become a rats nest...
    inventory:

    sunglasses
ipod with charger and earphones and cable
    cellphone charger
    bluetooth earpiece
brush (not for me since i have little hair)
    gym card
various grocery store and expresso stand punch cards
    3 pens
    tire pressure gauge
    misc note pads
memory stick for camera (camera currently not in car, but is frequently)
extra cellphone (for work) and charger (regular cellphone rarely leaves my pocket, harder to lose that way)
CD (ya only one. my nephew's band. they made 1000 to sell. i think they still have about 998 left...)
multi-tool thing and pocket screwdriver set
    flashlight
dual head 12 volt adapter (frequently have SEVERAL electronic devices that need to be charged)
    a small tupperware with crackers
    package of cheese and crackers
package of peanut butter crackers(with a two-year old, its wise to have snack food on hand, trust me on this!!)

now, i should take a pic. its a mess, but in the SPM, it was all buried in the center console and EXTREMELY difficult to pull much out of there while driving. flipping the cover up and being able to effectively search the area and drive was not that easy for me.

with the console, i can easily reach it all (ya, even the seat warmers are easy... not the best place i think but still easy for me to reach) and the shelf is in plain sight, so i like it better than the SPM...

only thing i miss is that hidden compartment. perfect place to put title, insurance and other stuff i wanted a bit out of sight.

The Prius II drives worse than a playstation 2 arcade game. The steering is dead while the suspension is softer than tofu. If you try to drive the car at speed like a normal person, you can easily get your body thrown around in that thing. The center gap/hole reminds me of a Buick POS from the 80s.
