Could someone explain what the difference between dropping/adding vs. using a waiver? I'm tempted to stay with the players that I've drafted, but I have a LOT of players that have the same bye week. I'm just wondering if there is a limit to the amount of switches we do, and if any option lets us drop the player for a week and then pick that same player up the next. Sorry for my noobness. I LOVE to watch football, but really haven't much of a clue how this fantasy stuff works.
An add or a drop IS a waiver move. Simply find the person you want and select add. Then choose who to drop. You can do as many waiver moves as you like. A dropped player becomes free game for anyone to pick up, including you. Adding players is easy enough, figuring out who to drop is the hard part unless you've had a season ending injury.
Well, I'll see how this weekend goes and then figure things out from there. I think I have too many players with bye's in week 6 though, so unless I'm totally kicking butt...I'll have to do some add/drops.
There is one slight difference. During the first few days after each Sunday's games all free agent players are put on "waivers" (i.e. hold) so that every owner who might one to make moves has a chance. Owners (us) put in our requests and then late at night they are processed one at a time depending on an order determined by your teams rank (poorer teams pick first). By the end of the week, all remaining free agents can be picked up (add/dropped) instantly, no waiting so if 5 minutes before a game you realize your kicker is going to be out, you can go grab someone from the heap. My team sure sucks, but I'm here to have some fun and at least try to stay competitive as that makes it more fun for everyone. Bob
Well, I decided to drop Ricky Williams and picked up Mike Bell. Good or bad? I guess we'll see. I figure with Ricky retiring this year he probably won't get much play time. I'm in this for fun too, but I DO like to win...
Woot! GREAT first week!! Glad I got so lucky...we'll see how next week goes. Shocked at how many Bears got injured during the game...that's just sad! Did you all have a fun weekend?!? :cheer2:
Glad everyone enjoyed it...and from the "had fun watching the games" stand point FF did what's usual and expanded my involvement. But starting with a crappy team and then having my top two players get only 5 points apiece truely hurt. then VP had to have a monster week scoring over 120 points. I never had a prayer!
I can't believe I tied for 2d highest point total. And lost. Ah well, I just need Brees to throw 6 TDs a week and I should be fine. ound:
Too bad Brees can't play the Lions every week! I do feel bad about that win! It sucks having a banner week and still losing. The moster game from the Eagles (Both McNabb and the D) more than negated the banner day from Brees.
Yea, that was my 10 year old...not that that's bad.:bounce: I'll win this week....assuming Joseph Addai breaks his leg in the backfield on his first carry of the game.
That'll teach me for benching my starting QB! Such is life....you play and long shot and hope for the best
