    You can't reach out and touch the lining of the fuel tank either, so not a true comparison. Like I said in the OP, I'm sure that GM has plenty safequards, but we still have FUD floating around about getting shocked from the battery. There are still a lot of the masses who are afraid of anything different, even if it doesn't make sense.
